Years after the first incident with Betelgeuse, Lydia is now a host of a paranormal talk show called Ghost House, produced by her boyfriend Rory. Lydia, who still possesses the ability to sense the supernatural, has a panic attack after seeing a vision of the demon Betelgeuse during a taping. Rory manipulates Lydia's psychic abilities for the show, discouraging her from taking medication.

Soon after, Lydia’s stepmother Delia informs her that Lydia's father, Charles, has died in a shark attack. On their way to Winter River for the funeral, the family picks up Lydia’s estranged daughter, Astrid, from boarding school. Lydia tries to reconnect with Astrid, but Astrid resents her mother and her work. It’s revealed that Lydia divorced Astrid’s father, Richard, two years before his mysterious disappearance in South America.

Meanwhile, Betelgeuse, working as a call center manager in the afterlife, reminisces about his love for Lydia while avoiding his resurrected ex-wife, Delores. Betelgeuse, using Charles' death as an excuse, plots to reconnect with Lydia.

At Charles’ funeral, Rory proposes to Lydia, planning a Halloween wedding. Lydia hesitantly agrees, which angers Astrid, who storms off and later meets Jeremy, a ghost who has been dead for 20 years. After discovering more about her father and her mother’s past, Astrid finally believes Lydia’s stories about the supernatural.

On Halloween, Astrid learns Jeremy's dark secret: he murdered his parents and died while hiding in his treehouse. As Astrid is tricked into helping Jeremy return to life, Lydia races to stop her, ultimately seeking Betelgeuse’s help. Betelgeuse agrees to assist, but only if Lydia marries him to evade Delores.

Now that Astrid believes her, what will happen to Lydia and Betelgeuse? And what will that do to their relationship?

MY REVIEW

What I Like:

  • I love the new cast. And I love Winona. Jenna is awesome! And this latest film is a good watch too.
  • I just wish that Delores gets more screen time. It would be great to see the interactions between Betelgeuse, Lydia and her in a triangle love - hate relationship.

What I Don't Like:

  • The sand worm looks cartoony? I'm just trying to find a fault.

Will I Watch It Again: Yes, I would.

Overall: 4.5/ 5.0

The pictures are taken from multiple sources on the Internet. Thank you.
