Send Help [Movie Review]

Send Help [Movie Review] | After watching the trailers, I was convinced it would be a light rom-com. I even planned to catch it in cinemas, but never found the time.

I finally got around to it during Ramadan.

Was I right?

Linda Liddle has spent most of her life being overlooked. She did everything right and at times, more than expected, yet somehow remains invisible in rooms where decisions are made. So when Bradley Preston steps into power, she believes this is finally her moment. A long overdue promotion, recognition, a shift in how the world sees her. Instead, the rug is pulled out from under her in the most humiliating way possible. The promotion was given to Donovan, a recent hire and former fraternity brother to Bradley. He even plans to sideline Linda in a dead-end role, citing her abrasive manner and lack of charisma.

A corporate getaway to Bangkok quickly spirals into something far more sinister, where power dynamics, bruised egos and buried resentment begin to surface in ways no one could have predicted.

Then everything changes.

Stranded on a remote island with only Bradley left alive, Linda steps into a role she was never given the chance to claim before. She becomes the leader, the provider, the one who decides what comes next. And she is unexpectedly, almost unsettlingly, good at it. While Bradley clings to the illusion of authority, Linda adapts with ease. She learns quickly, moves decisively and begins to thrive in a way that feels both empowering and dangerous.

As isolation deepens, survival becomes something more complex than staying alive. It becomes about control, about identity and about who holds power when everything familiar is stripped away. Linda is no longer just enduring the island. She is shaping it, bending it to her will. And in the process, she begins to reshape Bradley too, turning the man who once overlooked her into someone entirely dependent on her presence.

Power, once tasted, is difficult to let go of.

So when the possibility of escape begins to surface, one question lingers quietly beneath it all.

Does Linda still want rescue or has she found who she was meant to be?
