Anaconda: Cursed Jungle [Movie Review] | Truthfully, I have stopped watching Anaconda after Jennifer Lopez, just because Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid was too painful to watch.
I didn't even bother to watch the following movies, until this on drops on Netflix, and it was a long weekend with nothing much to do (and no money to travel). So, here goes.

- Produced by Xiang Brothers Films with backing from Alibaba Pictures, the film had strong support that boosted its budget, marketing, and domestic expectations.
- Originally a Mandarin-language production from China, Anaconda: Cursed Jungle was released internationally, tapping into the global appeal of monster-survival thrillers.

The story begins with Jeff, who travels with two of his friends and a boatman, cutting through a jungle. The friends are happy to just capture any snakes that come their way, but Jeff have set his mind on capturing the beast of the jungle - a crimson anaconda. He kills the boatman, I assume to silent him and force the friends to follow him into the heart of the jungle, where they meet and become meals for the said anaconda.
Elsewhere, a struggling circus troupe, desperate for a break, is sold to a greedy profiteer, Jin Ba Liang. Promised fame in Southeast Asia, they board a creaky ship bound for Thailand. But it seems that Ba Liang has other plans for the troupe. A colossal anaconda launches a jaw-dropping boat attack, sending the performers into the heart of a cursed rainforest. Among the wreckage, they rescue Jeff, a mysterious stranger with his own secrets, who guides them through a jungle where danger slithers at every turn.

And danger here doesn’t just wear scales. Alongside the monstrous snake, it seems that Ba Liang is a ruthless poacher. Originally he wants to sell the troupe members' organs but now, captivated by the story shared by Jeff, he is willing to use human lives as bait.
Using their circus abilities, the members try their very best to last in the jungle - against the beast and also Jeff and Ba Liang.
Can any of them outlast the beast?

MY REVIEW
What I Like:
- The Chinese is remaking the 1997 OG.
- The anaconda CGI blew me away—it looked so real, it made me hate the reptile even more. Why I even decided to watch this movie in the first place? Honestly, I still can’t explain.
What I Don't Like:
- Why remake if the the ones that follow the first, failed? Why bother?
Will I Watch It Again: No, thanks. It is an OK to watch.
Overall: 3.2/ 5.0
