Thor: Love and Thunder [Movie Review] | I realised that I have not watched this one as I did not entered Malaysia. 

So, I immediately watched it, as I want to see Jane Foster wielding Mjolnir.

• Chris Hemsworth’s family is all in: his twin sons play young Thor at different ages, daughter India Rose is Gorr’s child, brother Luke plays stage Thor, and wife Elsa appears as a past flame, the wolf woman.
• Thor made MCU history as the first, and so far only, character to headline four solo films, as of May 2025.
• The film was shot in Australia, Chris Hemsworth’s home turf. Director Taika Waititi, along with Russell Crowe and Sir Sam Neill, hail from nearby New Zealand. 

In a sun-scorched desert, Gorr and his daughter Love, the last of their kind, cling to life. They pray to their god, Rapu, for salvation. But help never comes. Love dies in his arms, and Gorr is left shattered. Stumbling into Rapu’s lush oasis, Gorr confronts the deity, only to be mocked for his suffering. That’s when the cursed Necrosword chooses him. Fueled by rage, Gorr slays Rapu and vows to wipe out every god in existence. The sword gives him power to bend shadows and conjure beasts. What he didn't know that it’s slowly killing him too.

Meanwhile, Thor rides with the Guardians of the Galaxy, searching for purpose post-Thanos. He receives a distress call from Sif and rushes to find her gravely wounded. She warns him that Gorr’s next target is New Asgard.

Meanwhile, on Earth, Jane Foster battles stage-four cancer. With science failing her, she travels to New Asgard in search of hope. Mjolnir, shattered by Hela years ago, senses her and reassembles, drawn to a forgotten enchantment Thor once placed to protect her. Jane becomes the Mighty Thor.

Gorr attacks New Asgard. Thor arrives just in time and is stunned to see Jane wielding Mjolnir. Along with Valkyrie and Korg, they fight back, but Gorr escapes with the town’s children, imprisoning them in the eerie Shadow Realm.

The team seeks aid from the gods in Omnipotence City. Zeus, arrogant and dismissive, refuses to help. When he threatens their mission, Thor retaliates, manages to injures him, steals his thunderbolt, and escapes with the group. On the way, Thor learns the truth about Jane’s illness.

In the Shadow Realm, they fall into Gorr’s trap. Jane discovers that Stormbreaker, Thor’s axe, can summon the Bifrost which is Gorr’s key to Eternity, a place where any wish can come true. Gorr seizes the axe and mortally wounds Valkyrie and Jane.

Back in New Asgard, Thor learns that Mjolnir is draining Jane’s strength. He goes to face Gorr alone, empowering the children to fight with him. Jane returns for one final stand. Together, they destroy the Necrosword.

What I Like:  

• Love the plot - very clear and precise.
• Superb performances.
• There are two post-credit scenes.

What I Don't Like:

• None

Will I Watch It Again: Yes, I don't mind watching it again.
