Healthy Living Gets a Merdeka Boost with OXYENERGY x Media Prima Merdeka Run 2026

Healthy Living Gets a Merdeka Boost with OXYENERGY x Media Prima Merdeka Run 2026 | Being healthy isn't just about hitting the gym or counting every calorie. Sometimes, it starts with the little choices we make every day. From what we eat, how we move, how we take care of ourselves and perhaps most importantly, making time to simply feel good.

That is where OXYENERGY comes in.

Inspired by the values of purity and science, the New Zealand-origin wellness brand has been building its presence around a simple idea, which is making wellness part of everyday life. Its range covers different aspects of health, nutrition, fitness and beauty, with products including White Tomato, L-Carnitine, DailyBiome and Easy Fiber.

And what better way to bring that philosophy to life than by getting Malaysians moving?

Held in conjunction with Malaysia's Merdeka and Malaysia Day celebrations, the event brought together more than 1,500 runners and participants under the theme “Empowering Healthier Malaysians This Merdeka" on 13 September 2026.

There was something for everyone.

Those looking for a little challenge could take on the 5.5KM Challenge Run, while families and casual runners could opt for the more relaxed 3.5KM Family & Casual Run.

And it wasn't really about who crossed the finish line first.

The bigger idea was encouraging Malaysians of different ages and fitness levels to get active, spend time together and embrace a healthier lifestyle while celebrating what makes Malaysia, well, Malaysia.

More than just running

The wellness theme continued beyond the running route.

Participants could join the OXYENERGY Wellness Session, which shared practical insights around nutrition, self-care and everyday wellbeing. There were also opportunities to explore the brand's wellness offerings and learn more about how they fit into different aspects of an active lifestyle.

The event also had plenty of Merdeka spirit.

Special recognitions were given to the Oldest Participant, Youngest Participant, OKU Participant and Best Merdeka Fashion, while lucky draws and family-friendly entertainment added to the festive atmosphere.

A Merdeka celebration is always a little more fun when people actually dress up for it!

Perhaps that’s what makes the Merdeka Run so refreshing. It’s not just about running further or faster, but about finding enjoyable ways to make wellness part of everyday life.

A little movement.

A little self-care.

Good company, good energy and plenty of Merdeka spirit.

Because getting healthier doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes, all it takes is taking that first step.

And who knows? That first step might lead you towards something better.
