The Devil's Mouth [Movie Review] | Another shark movie? Count me in. During my recent work trip to Japan, this title caught my attention. Back at my Airbnb with the night all to myself, I hit play without expecting much.

• Although The Devil's Mouth is fictional, it is inspired by Thailand's real flooded limestone cave systems, where narrow passages, changing tides and poor visibility make cave diving extremely dangerous.
• Dead marine life, unusual water conditions and stranded wildlife foreshadow the danger long before the characters realize something is wrong. 
• The film highlights how poor decisions, overconfidence and conflict can be just as deadly as the predator.

Sara joins her college friends Max, James, Adrienne and Greg on what is supposed to be an unforgettable vacation. Beneath the laughter and carefree atmosphere, however, tensions have already begun to surface. Sara constantly finds herself overshadowed by Max, whose dominant personality often leaves little room for anyone else's voice. Even when things go wrong, Sara struggles to stand up for herself, choosing peace over confrontation.

After a frightening incident at sea leaves Sara seriously injured by jellyfish, the group decides to continue their holiday with a guided expedition into a spectacular underwater cave system known as The Devil's Mouth. The mysterious network of caves promises breathtaking scenery and an unforgettable adventure. 

At first, the group decided to take the green route. The name signifies a safer route. But when Max sees another route marked red route, she 'coaxed' the group to choose the red route. Despite hesitant at first, Wat, the guide gave in to the group's demand. 

As they venture deeper underground, strange discoveries begin to raise alarm. Dead marine life, dangerous environmental changes and unsettling signs suggest something is terribly wrong within the caves. When they realised that something dangerous and deadly is with them in the cave, it was already too late..And escaping proves far more difficult than entering.

As the group becomes trapped inside the labyrinth of caves, Sara is forced to confront not only the terrifying predator but also her own fears and self doubt. For the first time, she must decide whether to continue following others or finally trust her own instincts.

When survival demands impossible choices, who can truly be trusted and will anyone make it out of The Devil's Mouth alive?

MY REVIEW

What I Like:  

• It manages to heighten my claustrophobic. 
• The cinematography of the cave system really captures the beauty of the cave (despite that I also hates swimming in dark waters + confined spaces).
• The conflict between friends? I would say adds weightage to the movie too.

What I Don't Like:

• None I would say. Except don't watch this if you're thinking of cave swimming anytime soon.

Will I Watch It Again: Yes, I don't mind watching it again.
