Mutiny [Movie Review] | A movie starring Jason Statham can either be beautifully executed or go terribly wrong. And as far as I know, he seems to have made action movies his signature genre.

• Reportedly, writer J.P. Davis originally envisioned the film as a sequel to Plane (2023), with the working title Ship. After Gerard Butler dropped out, Davis and Lindsay Michel reworked the screenplay into an entirely standalone film.
• The full movie was accidentally leaked on Amazon Prime’s product page for several hours on August 19, days before its international release, before being removed and later appearing on piracy sites. An international buyer called it a “multimillion-dollar problem” for Amazon.

A former police officer and commando, Reed now works quietly as a bodyguard for billionaire shipping tycoon Tibu Campallo. But one ordinary night in Bangkok turns into a deadly game when a peaceful chess match is followed by a brutal ambush.

Reed survives. Tibu does not.

With his dying boss entrusting him with the safety of his son, Kameron, Reed suddenly finds himself framed for Tibu’s murder and hunted by the very people he once trusted. Instead of running, Reed decides to go straight into the danger.

His next move takes him aboard the cargo ship Artemis, where he assumes the identity of a dead assassin. What begins as a mission to uncover the people behind Tibu’s death soon takes a much darker turn when Reed and KMG employee Angie stumble upon something far more sinister.

The ship is hiding a human trafficking operation.

As Reed fights to free the captives, Angie desperately attempts to call for help, only for the situation to spiral out of control. The crew is not innocent and someone powerful is pulling the strings from behind the scenes.

Reed soon discovers that Tibu’s assassination was never simply about revenge. It was part of a calculated plan involving KMG, its ownership and Kameron himself. The deeper he digs, the more dangerous the conspiracy becomes.

With the crew turning against him and the Coast Guard closing in, Reed has to fight his way through the ship while trying to expose the truth before it is too late. But even after surviving the chaos aboard Artemis, his mission is far from over.

Returning to Thailand, Reed comes face to face with Kameron, who may have been manipulated into making decisions that cost his father everything. For Reed, forgiveness is not on the table. There is still one person left to find.

As Reed closes in on the mastermind behind the conspiracy, the line between justice and vengeance becomes almost impossible to see. 

But will Reed walk away after getting his revenge or will his final confrontation change everything?
