Zootopia 2 [Movie Review] | I loved the first one and the trailers for the sequel have me hooked. 

But the big question is: is it worth heading to the cinema, or can you just wait for it to hit streaming?

• Although Zootopia 2 was released nine years after the first film, it is set just one week later. 
• During the chase, a lion chef making ratatouille loses his hat to reveal a rat on his mane, a nod to Disney’s Ratatouille. At the same time, the raccoon head chef references Everything, Everywhere, All at Once’s parody called Raccacoonie. 
• Jesús is a basilisk lizard, nicknamed the Jesus lizard for its ability to run on water 

Just a week into their official partnership at the Zootopia Police Department, Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde are still learning how to work together. Their constant bickering and clashing personalities push Chief Bogo to the edge. He warns them that unless they attend a partnership therapy session, their assignment as partners might be terminated. 

Meanwhile, a routine raid on a smuggling ring leads Judy to discover a piece of shed snake skin. She starts to suspect that a snake is on the loose in Zootopia and the trail seems to lead to the Zootenial Gala, the city’s grand centennial celebration hosted by the prestigious Lynxley family, descendants of Zootopia’s founder Ebenezer Lynxley.

At the Gala, Judy befriends Pawbert, the awkward youngest Lynxley, while Nick notices a hooded figure weaving through the crowd. The figure reveals himself as Gary De'Snake, a pit viper with a personal mission. Chaos erupts when Gary kidnaps Milton Lynxley, the family patriarch and seizes an old journal detailing the creation of Zootopia’s weather walls. Gary claims the journal contains evidence to restore his family’s honor, insisting snakes are not the villains everyone assumes them to be. The situation spirals when Milton accuses Judy and Nick of aiding the viper and Gary’s bite lands Chief Bogo in danger. Forced to flee, Judy and Nick escape with the journal, while a mysterious motorcyclist spirit carries Gary away.

On the run, they seek guidance from crime boss Mr. Big and his daughter Fru Fru, who send them to Nibbles Maplestick, a beaver obsessed with conspiracies. Nibbles leads them to Marsh Market, a hidden refuge for Zootopia’s reptiles. There, a wise basilisk named Jesús explains how their community’s home was buried during Tundratown’s construction. Gary retrieves the journal, prompting Judy and Nick to scale an abandoned lodge in the mountains, where Judy uncovers evidence that reptiles once lived peacefully alongside other citizens. 

Barely a week into their partnership, can they solve the mystery before it’s too late?

• Love the new characters and their development. 

What I Don't Like:

• No new recipe here.

Will I Watch It Again: Yes, I don't mind watching it again.
