- The film was adapted from a viral horror thread on social media by Qwertyyping Teguh Faluvie. The thread gained millions of views before becoming a podcast series and then a full feature film.
- The production team avoided linking the fictional village of Rangkaspuna to any real culture in Indonesia. They blended different cultural elements and horror tropes to make the setting feel unique and eerily real, like a place born from urban legend.

Weda, a young model on the rise, seemed to have it all, beauty, fame, and a future filled with promise. But when a scandal involving her boyfriend, Bagas, breaks, her glittering life teeters on the edge of collapse. Desperate to protect both Weda and their secret, Bagas takes her to his remote hometown, Rangkaspuna, a village isolated from the world and shrouded in dark secrets.
Bagas tells Weda that the village was once lively, but has since been abandoned for reasons long forgotten. Sensing her hesitation about the choices ahead, he pulls out a ring and proposes. Overcome with hope for a future she had dreamed of, Weda agrees to continue with the abortion, convinced that this path will preserve her life and career.

They arrive at a quiet house where Rini and her mute son, Guna, greet them. Bagas leaves Weda with Rini to prepare for the procedure. At first, everything seems straightforward. But it does not stay that way.
Weda’s dreams grow darker and more vivid as the days pass in the village. Shadows haunt her sleep, visions of rituals and blood that chill her to the bone. She begins to question her decisions, the very path that brought her here. Each time doubt creeps in, Bagas reassures her, painting a picture of a bright future without the burden of pregnancy. Slowly, Weda begins to believe him again, surrendering to the promise of normalcy.
Then she sees it. Bagas in Rini’s embrace, whispering the same words of love he had once spoken to her. Her heart races. Betrayal crashes over her. The village that seemed like a refuge begins to reveal its darker truth and Weda realizes that she may have walked straight into a trap she cannot escape.
Bagas, Rini and Rangkaspuna - what’s the connection?
