Dawn works as a waitress in Honey Grove, Texas by day. By night, she’s a metalsmithing sculptor with a torch in her hand and Paris, France in her heart. She dreams to walk the cobblestone streets of Montmartre, art school acceptance letter in one hand, sketchbook in the other.

And when she actually gets that acceptance letter, it feels like destiny finally came knocking—until reality does too. No financial aid, no housing and her Paris Fund is not big enough to cover the impossible.

Her younger sister Emily proposes for her audition for The Honeypot, a reality dating show with its next season filming in Paris. Dawn scoffs at first, but the promise of a $20,000 appearance fee plus a “free” ticket to France has her reconsidering. So, both Dawn and Emily plan to join the cast, get eliminated in week one, and voilà—Paris dream funded. Easy peasy. Or so they thought.

However, the producers of The Honeypot have their own wicked sense of humor because the contestants don’t end up in Paris, France. They land in Paris, Texas, which is only 60 miles from Dawn's home.

As she had signed the agreement, now she is trapped in a ranch-house reality circus with influencer frenemies like Lexi and sweet genius Jasmine. Even worse, the bachelor she’s supposed to chase is Trey McAllen III —the same swoon-worthy rancher she’d already shared a flirtatious night with back in Honey Grove.

Now Dawn’s simple money-grab has turned into a full-blown emotional rodeo. Every time she tries to tank her chances, sparks with Trey keep getting in the way. The fact that Trey is built like a God doesn't help her cause too.

Between her family’s hopes, her late mother’s dream of Paris, and the possibility that love might actually be waiting in the unlikeliest of places, Dawn has to choose.

Paris or the cowboy—will Dawn chase her dream, or discover her masterpiece in love?

MY REVIEW

What I Like:

  • It carries the same dilemma that we all faces in our daily life - reality or reality programme?
  • Fresh faces for the romcom. The cast has promise.

What I Don't Like:

  • No new recipe here - predictable.
  • Some characters are quite shallow.

Will I Watch It Again: I probably would, but not my go-to movie.

Overall: 3.9/ 5.0

The pictures are taken from multiple sources on the Internet. Thank you.
