Badarawuhi di Desa Penari [Movie Review]

Badarawuhi di Desa Penari [Movie Review] | I have reviewed the KKN di Desa Penari and I liked the movie then. And this is the prequel to the movie.

Will it entail the origin of Badarawuhi and the curse that has befallen the village?

Badarawuhi Di Desa Penari, Horror, Thriller,, Movie Review by Rawlins, Rawlins Lifestyle, Rawlins GLAM

The movie starts with Mbah Putri, the village head of Desa Penari, hosting a ritual to choose a dancer for Badarawuhi, the spirit protector of the village.

One dancer was chosen and given the arm bracelet. Instead of putting it on the chosen dancer, Mbah Putri urged Inggri to take the bracelet and run with it, away from the village and to never return to the village. Ran Inggri did, even when Badarawuhi appeared before her and asked her to return the bracelet.

Twenty five years later, a group of 3 youngsters, Mila, Yuda and Arya seek direction to Desa Penari. Jito shows them the way to the village. When they arrived and wishes to meet the head of the village, they were told that Mbah Putri has just passed away and the next wise person in the village, Mbah Buyut is away.

Ratih, the nice young lady allows the men to wait for Mbah Buyut's return at the guard's hut while invites Mila to sleep in her house. Ratih informs Mila that her mum is not well, so they have to speak slowly and not to make any noise while in the house.

Mila starts seeing things - a dancer in the dark, snakes in the water and many other sights that she could not explain.

Later, when she hears music playing from the 'nearby village', Ratih agrees to accompany her there, only to be met with Badarawuhi and her followers.

Turns out that Mila's mother is currently bedridden with a mysterious disease and upon a consultation with a wise man, was asked to return the bracelet to the village of its origin. She returns the bracelet to Badarawuhi and Badarawuhi tells her that she has taken a liking towards Mila and wants her to stay with her as her dancer. And she learns that the sickness that has befallen her mother and Ratih's and the instruction to return the bracelet to the village was all parts of Badarawuhi's plan.

They were there for a few hours but to her companions, both girls were missing for the whole day.

When Mbah Buyut returns, he tells Mila that returning the bracelet was a wrong move as now Badarawuhi would once again regain power over the village and she would want the village to sacrifice young girls to be her dancers.

Mbah Buyut determines to save Mila from becoming Badarawuhi's dancers, but Mila determines to save her mother, as Badarawuhi promises to heal her mother if she becomes the dancer.

Who will have their wish - Badarawuhi or Mila? And at what cost?

Was it scary? No. The first one was better.

Cast: 4.7/ 5.0 Everyone delivers.

Will I Watch It Again: I most probably will, but not in the cinema.

The pictures are taken from multiple sources on the Internet. Thank you.
