On July 4, 2024, Ava returns to her picturesque hometown of Southport, North Carolina, for her bestie Danica’s engagement bash. The night wraps with a joyride to catch the town’s iconic fireworks. Danica’s fiancé Teddy, Ava’s ex Milo, and their long-lost friend Stevie, fresh out of rehab, joined the ride. But when Teddy plays a stupid prank on a winding cliffside road, a stranger’s car crashes onto the road divider, hanging on the cliff with the driver trapped unconscious inside. Ava begs them to help the car, but the car falls into the ocean as they approach the vehicle. Ava insists on assisting the driver but the others agree not to. She wants to call the cops, but Teddy, backed by his powerful politician father, forces them into silence.
Fast forward a year. Ava’s back in Southport for Danica’s bridal shower. This time Danica is to marry Wyatt, not Teddy. But when she opens her presents, a creepy note shows up “I know what you did last summer”, it’s clear someone remembers their dirty little secret. Danica suspects Teddy as he was bitter when she ended their engagement but Teddy denies it.

Soon after, Wyatt ends up dead, hooked, slashed, and brutalized by a shadowy figure dressed as a fisherman. The group realizes they’re being hunted. As the panic kicks in, Ava insists on digging into the secret and finding the killer.
As bodies pile up, including Teddy, Grant, Milo, and even poor Tyler, the horror podcaster, the survivors dig deeper into the past. Ava reaches out to original survivor Julie James, who warns her that the killer has a very personal connection to the man they killed.
Who's the Fisherman?

MY REVIEW
What I Like:
- I might sound biased but I find this sequel interesting to watch.
- Yeay to the OG cast!
What I Don't Like:
- No new formula here. It's the same old story - only you'll get to know who the Fisherman is in this sequel.
- There's a post-credit scene.
Will I Watch It Again: Yes, I would.
Overall: 4.5/ 5.0
