The Lord Musang King [Movie Review]

The Lord Musang King [Movie Review]| The announcement for the date of 'The Lord Musang King' will air in Malaysia was made during launch of the Korean Film Festival last November 22, 2023. The public were informed that the movie is a collaborative effort between the local film industry and the powerhouse of Asian cinema, South Korea.

So, when I was invited for the premiere of the movie on 19 December 2023 at GSS Lalaport, I immediately said yes. I was actually intrigued to watch the content of the movie.

Obviously it revolves around Malaysian's beloved king of fruit, durian.

SYNOPSIS

Haikal is the only son to Samad, the Lord Musang King of Massalia. He just finished his military training and seeking out his friends' assistance to open up a gym. Natasya and Fiezol help him the best way they could - shooting, editing and posting viral videos etc.

Faruk is the naughty kid in the area and has his eyes on Natasya, to which Natasya pays no mind. During one of his attempts to court Natasya, Fiezol accidentally acted out his hatred towards Faruk and ended all of them caught in a fight and suffered a few bruises themselves.

Meanwhile, Samad rejects offer from his partners to export the Musang King durian to South Korea via collaboration with Cheun Ha International Group.

When Haikal returns home with bruises on his lips, a police car follows suit not long after. Upon inspection of his car, a corpse was found inside the car's hood, landing Haikal in the police's custody.

Samad tries his best to get Haikal release but failed. Haikal ends up in prison.

In exchange to get Haikal out, Samad agrees to collaborate with Cheun Jin, the owner of Cheun Ha International Group.

But before the deal is made, Samad is killed.

What will happen to Haikal?

MY REVIEW

Plot: 4.1/ 5.0 A straight-forward movie with beautiful choreography of stunts and shots.

The twists were beautifully inserted and I literally watched the movie just to know what's happening next.

And there's one part where I literally covered my eyes because the scene was a bit gore. Fuh!!

Cast: 4.1/ 5.0 A good and rightfully chosen cast.

Will I Watch It Again: Yes, I don't mind watching it again.

The pictures are taken from multiple sources on the Internet. Thank you.
