Old [Movie Review] | I have watched the trailer for quite some time and it got me intrigued. I wanna know what happened and how it happened, although based on my past experiences with M. Night's movies - he always misses the mark.

What about Old? Did he miss the mark, again?

Guy and Prisca brings their children, Maddox and Trent to a tropical vacation. Apparently, this will be their very last vacation together before their divorce. 

The hotel manager recommends them to visit a private, secluded and undisturbed beach, to which they agreed. Three other groups join them on the beach. 

The kids play happily on the beach while the adults enjoy their time sunbathing and whatnot.

The tragedy starts when one of the kids discover a drowned woman's body. NOt long after, the body fully decomposes, as if it has been on the beach for several years. 

Then Agnes, the elderly woman in the group, dies too. Thinking that one of the them might be the killer of the drowned woman, everybody was on alert and the lookout for strange behaviour from their stranger companions.

When the scared children emerges from their tent, the adults was surprised to see that they have become teenagers, and one of them is pregnant!

Now they realises that the beach is rapidly aging them, 30 minutes on the beach will age them a year forward. Whenever they try to leave the beach, they will black out.

Swimming across the sea turns out to be fatal too.

What is their survival option?

 

MY REVIEW

Plot: 4.5/ 5.0 It is interesting to know the secrets of the beach at the end of the movie. The movie has a great build-up and suddenly it stops just right before the climax. 

Was it a total miss? No - but a miss is still a miss. 

Was it enjoyable? The first part was good, the second part was a miss, and the last part was exciting.

Cast: 4.5/ 5.0 Everyone delivers.

Will I Watch It Again: I'm kinda 50/50 over this one.
