Since I am not a huge fan of sushi, I will always opt for bento and other cooked delicacies in Japanase restaurants.
And since I am a fan of Naruto who always eat ramen, ramen is among the top go-to menu for me.
Thanks to Sukiya who invited me to try out their latest menu that incorporates Malaysian twist into their best bowls. We Malaysians really love our food and we are all willing to fight nail and tooth to defend our national treasure ie our foods, so I was looking forward to trying their Malaysianised delicacies.
Trivia about Sukiya
Sukiya is Japan's No.1 Gyudon chain restaurant which offers delicious Gyudon at affordable prices with great service. The first restaurant opened in Japan in 1982 and now has evolved to 200 restaurants in Japan and running chain restaurants in 8 countries.
Sukiya opened its first restaurant in Malaysia way back in 2012 and currently has 4 restaurants. In Sukiya Malaysia, the restaurants are serving modern Japanese daily meal such as Gyudon, Ramen, Chicken bowl, Curry in the restaurant which is designed with Japanese pop culture in order to enjoy atmosphere like you are in Japan. Furthermore, all items served at Sukiya Malaysia are adhered to Halal regulations so that we Malaysians can dine without worry.
So, what do we have for the Malaysian version?
1) Volcano Chili Gyudon
This amazing Gyudon set comes in three sizes and prices. [Small @ RM10.40 | Medium @ RM12.40 | Large @ 14.40]. As per mentioned above, the food is of halal quality and uses premium Australian beef meat!
2) Volcano Chili Ramen
The amazing ramen comes with steamed chicken strips and available in one size only. The bowl price is RM12.40 per bowl.
3) Volcano Chili Katsu Ramen
This katsu ramen comes with fried chicken strips and available in one size only. The bowl price is RM16.40 per bowl.
So, what's the difference with this Malaysian menu?
It is spicier than ever - it has the cili padi zing into it. I know that we Malaysians love to add chilies into our food and now Sukiya is answering our prayers for a spicier Japanese delicacies.
Fret not about the level of the spiciness.
I am not into eating really spicy food but I can endure this menu. When I ate the dishes, the spiciness only stayed for a while and then it was gone. So, I think even our children could also eat this menu.
So people, all these three dishes will be available from 27 November onwards in a campaign called 'Volcano Chili Fair' in all Sukiya restaurants (Sukiya restaurant locations here).
Which one I love the most?
No matter where I go, I have to have rice so I would say Volcano Chili Gyudon!
Oh yes.
They also have other items on their menu but these three superstars will steal the limelight during the 'Volcano Chili Fair' .
