horror, Movie Review by Rawlins, Late Night With The Devil, Rawlins Lifestyle, Rawlins GLAM,

The movie starts by sharing a backstory of a live telecast of Night Owls with Jack Delroy that was in its sixth successful seasons, but never the best in its category. It seems that Jack has it all - a successful TV show, a beautiful wife and a colourful career.

The show is great but has never been the best - the show is always the second best to another late-night show. Sometime later, Madeleine, his wife contracts terminal lung cancer despite being a non-smoker and dies, after which Jack seems to disappear from the TV screen

A month later, Jack returns. To claim his spot at the top, Jack decides to do a specia themed episode on Halloween night. He invites special guests for the show -  including psychic Christou, skeptical former magician Carmichael Haig, parapsychologist author June Ross-Mitchell, and June's subject Lilly D'Abo. Lily is the only survivor of a satanic cult's mass suicide during a standoff with police and been under the care of June ever since the tragedy.

Christou starts the show by showing his ability to 'contact' the dead and share their 'unfinished business' with the livings. At the end of his segment, he receives a real premonition from someone named 'Minnie' - to which leaves him shaken. Carmichael, the next guest, insists that Christou is a phony but Jack corrects him when he tells the audience that 'Minnie' is the nickname of his beloved departed wife. Christou becomes sick during the show and vomits a black liquid. He is then rushed to the hospital.

The next segment sees June and Lily. Carmichael claims that both June and Lily are phonies. To prove that they are not phonies, Jack convinces the reluctant June to conjure the demon inside Lily. During another commercial break, the crew informs Jack that Christou has died en route to Mount Sinai Hospital due to internal hemorrhaging, which leaves Jack visibly disturbed.

During June's conjuring, Lilly becomes possessed by Mr. Wriggles - the demon, causes the electricity to go haywire, and levitates in her chair. Still, Carmichael is not convinced and challenges June by having Jack's sidekick Gus McConnell take part in a hypnotism demonstration that causes everyone in the studio to see worms coming out of and ravaging Gus. However, when the production team rewinds the footage, it proves that Carmichael's demonstration was merely a hallucination experienced by everyone in the studio. However, the supernatural phenomena that occurred during June's conjuring appears unaltered in the recorded playback.

What is actually going on?

MY REVIEW

Plot: 3.8/ 5.0 When the prologue plays, I was immediately turned off by the fact that the movie is supposed to be a 'found fottage' - just like the Blair Witch Project. I dislikes the idea of watching a first-person video recording as the angles and the shakings will make me dizzy.

Luckily, that's not the case with this one.

The prologue actually foretold the whole movie. The movie is just a thorough narration of the prologue.

Cast: 4.6/ 5.0 I love the cast - everyone delivers.

Will I Watch It Again: No, thanks.

The pictures are taken from multiple sources on the Internet. Thank you.
