The Devil Wears Prada 2 [Movie Review] | This is the one movie I absolutely couldn't miss.
I almost convinced my friends to watch it with me during a recent trip to Salzburg, but we backed out when we realized a single standard ticket there costs more than a luxury Aurum ticket back home in Malaysia. Hahaha.

- The first trailer received 185 million online views within the first 24 hours.
- The film's costumes will be auctioned off to benefit the Committee to Protect Journalists, a nonprofit promoting global press freedom.
- The 20-year delay happened because Meryl Streep famously avoids sequels. It took years of intense negotiations and massive salary offers to convince her, especially since she, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt had spent years publicly insisting a follow-up would never happen.
- Meryl Streep personally called Lady Gaga and asked her to cameo in the film.
- Critics who called Miranda's Valentino heels outdated missed a heartfelt tribute. Valentino Garavani was the only major designer to cameo in the 2006 film and Miranda wears his footwear to honor the legendary icon, who passed away earlier this year.

Two decades after walking away from her grueling assistant gig, Andy is a respected New York City reporter, only to have her entire newsroom abruptly laid off via text. The brutal message arrives literally in the middle of an awards gala while the team is sitting at their table.
Meanwhile, the high-fashion world is fracturing. Her former boss, the legendary Miranda Priestly, is facing intense scrutiny over a controversial Runway piece involving sweatshop labor. In an effort to restore the magazine's journalistic integrity, corporate bigwig Irv Ravitz hires Andy as the new features editor, entirely bypassing a deeply annoyed Miranda.
When Andy reports for work the next morning with her usual cheerful self, much to the astonishment of Nigel, she quickly realizes a harsher truth. Miranda doesn't even remember her short stint at Runway, let alone who she is.
Blunted by modern HR complaints and struggling to navigate an industry dominated by cheap clickbait and short-form video, Miranda is uncharacteristically vulnerable and weak. Print is dying and Runway is desperately pandering to advertisers just to survive. With a massive scandal unfolding under Miranda's watch, major brands are threatening to pull their funding, including Dior, represented by none other than Andy’s old frenemy, Emily.

The only reason Miranda tolerates Andy's sudden presence is because she is waiting for a major promotion promised by Irv. But when Andy manages to score an exclusive interview with Sasha Barnes, an elusive figure Miranda has been dying to land, the ice begins to melt and Miranda starts warming up to her.
However, corporate tragedy strikes when Irv suddenly passes away. His ruthless successor and son, Jay, who is completely clueless about fashion, threatens to gut Runway through aggressive cost cutting, putting the magazine's survival in jeopardy. Desperate for leverage in a shifting digital landscape, Andy considers signing a lucrative deal to write a definitive, explosive tell-all book about her terrifying former boss.
In a desperate bid to save the brand, Andy convinces a wealthy patron, Emily's tech mogul boyfriend, Benji, to buy Runway. But the plan sparks fury when Miranda realizes Emily is using the deal to orchestrate a coup to take over and fire her. Though Miranda tries to accept the loss with grace, she is deeply alarmed by Benji's cold, AI driven vision for the magazine's future.
Again, to save Runway, Andy and Miranda must form an unlikely alliance, racing to orchestrate a massive corporate counter-buyout before the iconic fashion institution is dismantled.
What will happen to all these iconic ladies' future?

MY REVIEW
What I Like:
- I was recently in Milan and visited Duomo and Lake Como. And I was excited when I recognised the places in the movie.
- Of course, we do not have to question the incredible cast. And to have much more celebrities appearing in the movie - CHEF'S KISS. And Lady Gaga! The ultimate!
- It is current - aptly discussing the death of printed media and the sudden emergence of AI everywhere.
What I Don't Like:
- Call me bias, but there's none.
Will I Watch It Again: Yes, I don't mind watching it again.
Overall: 4.8/ 5.0
