Ghost Board [Movie Review] | I read rave reviews of the movie, so when I saw it was available on Netflix, I decided to give it a go.

But was it worth the hype?

The movie opens with a young monk fleeing from a mysterious entity, clutching a dice in his hand. When the entity finally catches him, it hangs him from a ceiling beam. It soon becomes clear that the entity is his own mother, who is possessed by a malevolent force. As the monk dies, the dice slips from his grasp.

Later, a group of students gets into trouble for skipping school and is sent to a secluded forest temple as punishment. Rather than learning their lesson, their curiosity takes over when they discover an ancient board game hidden beneath the base of a Buddha statue in an abandoned section of the temple. It appears harmless. All dusty, forgotten and untouched for years. That is until one of them rolls the dice.

That single roll changes everything.

The game has one terrifying rule: it must be completed before dawn. With every turn, something darker is awakened, unleashing restless spirits, sinister entities and supernatural forces determined to prevent the players from reaching the end. What begins as a game quickly becomes a desperate fight for survival, as each challenge grows more dangerous and every decision carries deadly consequences.

Even seeking help from an adult proves futile, as the very people meant to protect them may become predators themselves when they are possessed by the malevolent spirits. With no one else to turn to, the students can rely only on one another.

Will they finish the game before dawn or will the board claim even more souls?

MY REVIEW

What I Like:  

• All kids hero! And they are good too!

What I Don't Like:

• Some CGIs need improvement.

Will I Watch It Again: Not on my favorite list.
