Keluang Man [Premiere & Review] | Keluang Man! Keluang Man! Keluang Man!
Aku hanyalah insan biasa
Tak pernah sempurna
Apatah lagi warasnya
Thanks so much Astro Shaw for inviting me to the premiere. I was actually not expecting such a big crowd at the mall during the premiere - but boy! Was I in for a surprise. And yes, all are in their late 30s, 40s and early 50s. Hahaha.
Well, that was our most favorite cartoon back then.

At the heart of this bold, live-action reboot is Borhan, a psychiatric patient with a murky past and an unpredictable present. By night, he slips out of his asylum to prowl the streets, haunted by old wounds.

The movie starts with Borhan going through dustbin looking for items while talking to Halim Othman, telling him how much he adores Halim Othman. And he was talking to Halim via his make-believe phone. Yes - Borhan is mentally ill - bukan gila! After managed to save a lady in distress, he has to run from the psychiatic ward staff as they were going to capture him. And he is confused as he saw that everybody have a gun - including a makcik!

More on Keluang Man
Directed by Anwari Ashraf (of Polis Evo and Projek: High Council fame), this project is his feature film debut and it’s a personal one. “This is our love letter to the 90s generation,” he says. “Keluang Man shaped an era. We just gave him a new suit.”
The film is powered by over 1,000 fully Malaysian creative crew contributed from pre-production to final VFX. That passion shows up on screen, especially with the star-studded cast: Nas Muammar Zar leads, joined by Dato’ Remy Ishak, Datuk Rosyam Nor, Shweta Sekhon, and many more. You’ll even spot some special cameos that’ll make OG fans smile.

Astro Shaw’s Raja Jastina Raja Arshad calls it Malaysia’s first postmodern film — an homage-filled spectacle that respects the past while reshaping it for today. “It’s not a remake. It’s a reimagination,” she says.
And if you’re wondering about the music? Oh yes,
Keluang Man isn’t just a movie. It’s a cultural reset — one that proudly wears its local heart on its sleeve.
