After hearing Craig reading the eulogy during his mother's funeral, Mr. John Harrigan meet up with Craig's dad and offer him a job: to read to him three times a week.

As the years go by, Craig and John becomes closer. Craig is now in high school and is also close to one of the teachers, Ms Hart who comes to his aid when Kenny, the school bully attempts to intimidate him.

When he wins a $3000 lottery, he buys a phone for John, even though he knows that John is a bit reluctant to rely on technology. When Craig tells John that he can read news and the stock exchange news almost immediately, John starts to show interest to explore the new gadget.

When John dies unexpectedly, Craig becomes very heart-broken. He puts John's phone into his suit during the funeral. Later he learns that John has left him $800,000 for him in his will as his trust fund.

Later that night, he calls John's phone to thank him. In the morning, he is shocked to find a reply message from John's phone. How is that even possible? His father tells him  that it must some kind of iPhone's glitches.

During a school dance, Kenny once again bullies Craig as he thinks Craig is the reason why he was expelled from school. At home, once again Craig calls John's phone to share his frustration and anger.

Next day, he learns that Kenny is dead, allegedly he fell from his bedroom window.

Thinking that somehow John is exacting revenge on his behalf from the grave, Craig buys a new phone and hide the old one.

Time moves on and Craig is moving to college. When his dad calls him that Ms Hart is killed in a car accident caused by a rich drunk driver, he immediately returns home. When he learns that the driver is only sent to rehab, he is infuriated and calls John's phone using his old phone again - sharing his anger over the phone.

Some time later, he learns that the driver was found dead in his shower, with a piece of a broken soap in his mouth. He leaves a suicide note that is actually the lyrics to the song 'Stand by Your Man' - a song that he sets as John's ringtone.

What is actually going on? Is John really helping Craig from under the ground?

MY REVIEW

Plot: 4.5/ 5.0 I kinda like the plot. A bit twisted, a bit horror and scary but very coming to age story. Not that heavy yet quite enjoyable.

Cast: 4.6/ 5.0 Everyone delivers.

Will I Watch It Again: Yes, I don't mind watching it again.

The pictures are taken from multiple sources on the Internet. Thank you.

  3. Wahh! Sound like a great movie for me to watch over the coming long weekend kan! Mysterious juga, perghhh! If this is from real story instead of just an imagination from the scriptwriter, this must be real cool tho! :P
