• The iconic Owens house was rebuilt at Leavesden Studios in England, meticulously recreated from the original blueprints, stills and even discontinued tiles. 
• The movie draws from Alice Hoffman’s 2021 novel The Book of Magic, while weaving in nostalgic callbacks like the deathwatch beetle, self stirring tea, midnight margaritas and the iconic rooftop scene.
• The original movie was considered a box office disappointment. Nearly three decades later, that “failure” has become a beloved cult classic.

In Massachusetts, the Owens women have lived with a curse for generations. Their ancestor Maria Owens was a powerful witch who was betrayed by love and in the aftermath, she placed a terrible curse on her bloodline. Any man who truly falls in love with an Owens woman is destined to die.

For sisters Sally and Gillian, it is a curse they desperately want to leave behind. Sally even gives up magic altogether, hoping that an ordinary life will protect her daughters, Kylie and Antonia, from the same fate. 

Years later, their elderly aunt Jet begins experiencing strange visions and follows a mysterious raven to an ancient book known as the Book of Raven. Hidden inside are clues that could finally break Maria Owens' curse, although some of its most important pages remain sealed. Before she could unseal the page, Jet dies.

When Kylie returns home and falls deeply in love with Gideon, the family’s old fears suddenly become impossible to ignore. A devastating accident leaves Gideon fighting for his life, forcing Kylie to confront the truth about her family and the magic that has been hidden from her.

Desperate to save him, Kylie takes the Book of Raven and follows a series of mysterious visions to England, where the trail leads her to Thornfield, the birthplace of Maria Owens. There, she encounters Tom Bailey, a man who seems determined to help her uncover the truth.

Meanwhile, Sally and Gillian follow Kylie across the Atlantic, joined by Ian Wright, a professor with his own complicated connection to magic. What begins as a search for answers soon becomes something far more dangerous as old secrets, forbidden magic and forgotten family ties begin to surface.

And just when the Owens women think they understand the curse, they discover that breaking it may demand a sacrifice far greater than they ever imagined.

What I Like:  

• The chemistry of the cast is impressive.
• I laughed and cried throughout the movie.
• Grander magic!

What I Don't Like:

• Too short?

Will I Watch It Again: I don't mind watching it again.
