- The huge hospital fight was actually the first major action sequence filmed, shot on day one and taking four days to complete.
- Runner was both set and filmed in Queensland, with Brisbane and the Gold Coast providing the backdrop.
- Two unrelated films titled Runner were released in September 2026, just nine days apart.

Hank Malone is a former Army Special Forces operative who now makes a living in Brisbane as a runner, transporting whatever his clients need, whether the job is completely legal or best left unmentioned.
Then comes one job that changes everything.
After a delivery goes sideways, Hank ends up with something rather unusual in his possession: an exotic parrot. But before he can figure out what to do with his unexpected feathered passenger, his boss Iggy sends him to the airport to collect a medical package. When he hears the pay, he immediately agrees.
Nothing unusual there. Until Hank meets Ben Bishop who carries the package.
Ben is carrying something far more valuable than money or drugs. Inside the cooler is a human liver, and he desperately needs Hank to take him to a hospital. Hank agrees, even though Iggy is practically begging him over the phone to deliver the organ somewhere else.
That decision turns a routine drive across Brisbane into a full blown nightmare.

Hank soon discovers that the liver is meant for a young girl named Ellie, while the donor and recipient share Rh Null, one of the rarest blood types in the world. There is also a very dangerous group of people who desperately want the same liver.
Suddenly, Hank and Ben are being chased through the city by members of a Colombian cartel and the stakes become much bigger than either man expected.
Along the way, Hank is forced to confront a painful part of his own past, including his struggle with alcohol and the death of his daughter Isabel, whose love for France still lingers with him.
But the cartel is not giving up. And neither is Hank. He wants to do right by Ellie and deliver the liver no matter what.
As Hank pushes deeper into the chaos, the line between a simple delivery job and a fight for someone's life completely disappears. With Ben captured, the liver running out of time and the cartel closing in, Hank finds himself facing an enemy who will stop at nothing to get what they want.
Who will get the liver and at what cost?

MY REVIEW
What I Like:
- Hank’s tough nature and Ben’s quirky personality create plenty of fun and chemistry to keep the movie entertaining.
- Simple, but the ticking clock keeps the tension high throughout the movie.
What I Don't Like:
- Some CGI, especially in the vehicle scenes, are distracting and unnecessary.
- The predictable storyline and uneven humour. The buddy action formula works at times, but some jokes and dialogue feel forced and poorly written.
Will I Watch It Again: Enjoyable but once is enough.
Overall: 3.9/ 5.0
