Top 10 Ramadan Bazaars to Visit in Selangor | It's the month of Ramadan. When the pandemic started, the notion of having Bazar Ramadan/ Pasar Ramadan or PaRam for short, was a subject that was heavily debated. 

But now, as we are easing into the endemic phase, PaRam is back again, with strict SOPs of course.

This year, a few days into Ramadan, bazaars in the State of Selangor have been receiving overwhelming responses following the permission to operate after the country went through several phases of the Movement Control Order (MCO). However, the public is reminded to always adhere to the SOPs when visiting Ramadan bazaars for the well-being of many.  

So, without further ado, here is the list of the Top 10 Ramadan Bazaars to visit in Selangor, brough to you by Tourism Selangor. The list in non-exhaustive, but it is a start for those of you who loves PaRam hopping!

1) Section 13, Shah Alam 

Who doesn’t know about the famous Section 13, Shah Alam’s Ramadan bazaar? Offering a wide variety of dishes, you are sure to spot the bazaar which covers this very wide area. Not only that, the bazaar also provides organized and secured parking system.

Muslims and non -Muslims can be seen visiting the bazaar which houses rows of stalls   selling various types of food such as tepung pelita, akok, spicy chicken rice, roasted lamb, roasted chicken, pasta, laksa, and also various types of drinks.

2) Taman Melawati Bazaar

Taman Melawati Ramadan Bazaar which covers a large parking area is one of the largest bazaars in Klang Valley. Just think of any menu you crave for, everything from Malaysian raditional desserts to roti bom, ayam percik, nasi lemak, toasted tofu and paste can be found here. The bazaar is also known for its well sought-after nasi kerabu!

3) USJ 4, Subang Jaya

USJ 4 Ramadan Bazar has a number of stalls that suit all your breaking-fast cravings. In addition, the aroma of grilled fish greets you when entering the bazaar will definitely whet your appetite. If you are looking for side dishes to serve with your rice dish, there are many options here for you to try.

4) SS6/1, Kelana Jaya  

Ramadan Bazaar at SS6/1, Kelana Jaya is famous for its many stalls selling a variety of food and beverages. Among their most popular and talked-about dishes include Nasi Ambeng which is served with fried chicken, soy chicken or meat rendang. Apart from Nasi Ambeng, cencaru sambal, percik chicken, Penang laksa, satay, kebab, grilled menu, halal Chinese and Indian food, as well as local desserts can be found here. There are also various drink stalls including the ones selling watermelon juice, which will quench your thirst after a day of fasting.

5) Greenwood, Gombak

This Ramadan bazaar located in Greenwood, Gombak is also a preferred bazaar by locals who look for unique and tasty dishes to break-fast during Ramadan. Among the highly sought-after menu here include popia basah, nasi kerabu, grilled fish and chicken and various types of Malaysian traditional desserts or kuih muih.

6) Bandar Baru Selayang Bazaar

Even when there is a filling rice dish, you should also enjoy the desserts offered at Bandar Baru Selayang's Ramadan bazaar. In addition, light dishes such as apam balik, cakes and churros are sold here.

7) Simpang 4, Klang

Ramadan Bazaar at Simpang 4, Klang does not need introduction as over the years, people from distant areas have been willing to drive here to get food for breaking fast. It may be due to the fact that people are aware that this bazaar houses various stalls selling delicious food and beverages. Apart from that, patience is also important because the food here is said to be in high demand. So, long queues are a common sighting. But, it's definitely worth it!

8) Section 7, Bandar Baru Bangi

Oh yeah. This is the bazaar that I frequented all the time. There are actually several Ramadan bazaars in Bangi that you can visit (Section 3, opposite Tenera Hotel, Bangi Gateway to name a few). But this one in particular is among the famous ones. There are many food and beverage options here, but the most popular ones are nasi kerabui, fried chicken and popia basah.

9) Section 17/1A, Petaling Jaya

You will definitely enjoy visiting this bazaar if you are uncertain of the menu option for breaking-fast on any particular days! Delicacies such as roti john, chicken claypot and tepung pelita are easily available at this bazaar. Just choose from any of the stalls!

10)  TTDI Grove

TTDI Grove's Ramadan Bazaar is no stranger to city dwellers who want to find delicious food such as tomato rice, nasi lemak, nasi hujan panas, nasi padang and shrimp glutinous rice. This is because the food sold here is of good quality and the price is reasonable. In addition, the strategic location of the bazaar is value-added.

  2. Diantara banyak2 bazar ramadan ni, sis dah pernah ke Seksyen 13 Shah Alam, USJ 4 Subang Jaya kalau nak cari nasi Chef Ammar, SS 6 Kelana Jaya dan Seksyen 7 Bandar Baru Bangi. So far belum singgah lagi. Tengok la minggu ni ke...
