Aftermath [Movie Review] | I was drawn to watch the movie when Netflix recommended it to me. Then I read in Ayu Rafiqah's blog that the movie is based in true event,

Of course it is a must watch for me.

The movie starts with a scene of a 911 throwback call by a distress woman. Later, the scene shifts to a wall of exploded brain matters - presumably the criminal's after he took his own life after killing his prey.

Kevin and his workers work as the cleaning crew at the house. The family members of the deceased home owners tell the crew that they are putting the house on sale.

Natalie, Kevin's wife is a home-entrepreneur who designs and sells clothes online. The couple has been seeing a marriage counselor due to Natalie's infidelity. The counselor advises the couple to start thinking of a new surrounding and environment that might saves their marriage.

Kevin suggests for them to buy the house which was on sale for a very low price (duhhhh! Who wants to buy a crime scene house), to start anew on their marriage. Natalie, at first reluctant, finally agrees to her husband's suggestion as she really wants to save the marriage.

Not long after them moving in, strange events start to happen. It seems that Kevin subscribed to porn magazines - but he actually didn't. Then house items starts to be 'misplaced' or 'moved' but the couple pay no mind, saying that it is because they are still in the moving in stage - thus tends to misplace items.

When Natalie starts to experience disturbing incidents, such as seeing a slender tall man chasing after her in the house but later seems to vaguely remembers the incident, Kevin accuses Natalie to finding reasons to move out of the house, which they bought with very little money and savings that they have had.

When the disturbance becomes more surreal and Kevin is also experiencing them, the couple starts to dig the history of the house and its previous owners.

What will they find? And will their marriage survives this one ordeal?

MY REVIEW

Plot: 4.0/ 5.0 I love that you'll learn the truth at the end of the movie. And then, you'll have to guess again as it seems that your previous guess was wrong. It seems that there will be a sequel too.

The twist is at the end of the movie, and then there's another twist. Was it scary? At some point it was, but it was 'you asked for it' kind of scary. Who in the their right minds , knowingly, move in into a house where murder happened?

Cast: 4.0/ 5.0 The duo plays a very young couple beautifully.

Will I watch it again: I would, with my screamer friends.

The pictures are taken from multiple sources on the Internet. Thank you.
