Detective Amanda Beck discovers the disturbing body of a young boy while searching for another missing child, Neil Spencer. The crime scene immediately reminds everyone of Frank Carter, a notorious serial killer known as the Whisper Man, who terrorised families in the 1990s before being captured by Detective Pete Willis.

Frank had a terrifying habit. He whispered to his victims and recorded messages that were later used to torment their grieving families. Now, years later, someone appears to be copying his signature.

Amanda turns to Pete for help, but the retired detective wants nothing to do with the case. The problem is, Frank will only speak to Pete.

Meanwhile, recently widowed novelist Tom Kennedy moves to Garretton with his young son Jake, hoping to begin a new chapter in their lives. But Jake has an imaginary friend, a mysterious girl wearing a blue sweater. Tom initially sees it as a normal part of childhood, especially since he once had an imaginary friend of his own.

Then things start getting creepy.

Jake begins reciting the Whisper Man rhyme. Strange things happen around their new house. Tom discovers someone in the basement, while Jake starts talking about something he calls “the boy in the floor”.

And then Jake disappears.

Desperate to find his son, Tom reaches out to Pete, his estranged father. Their troubled relationship slowly becomes connected to the terrifying investigation, while Amanda uncovers links between the house, the prison where Frank was held and people from his disturbing past.

As the investigation deepens, recordings of the missing children begin appearing, clues lead to unexpected suspects and the line between imagination and reality becomes increasingly blurred.

What makes the story even more unsettling is the connection between Jake’s imaginary friend, Tom’s childhood memories and the horrifying legacy of the Whisper Man.

Can Amanda, Pete and Tom uncover the horrifying truth before another family is destroyed?

MY REVIEW

What I Like:  

• It has that 90's great mystery and crime movie vibe.
• Robert De Niro and Micheal Keaton excels here. 

What I Don't Like:

• I would say, predictable.

Will I Watch It Again: It was a good watch, but once is enough.
