Supergirl [Movie Review] | It's Supergirl, a genre I would never normally miss. Or would I?
I've never actually watched the series, so maybe this is the perfect place to start.
Will I love this one?

- Originally titled Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, the film draws its inspiration from the acclaimed comic book that redefined Kara Zor El for a new generation.
- Jason Momoa returns to DC in a brand new role after playing Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe. Interestingly, Lobo is the character he had wanted to portray for years, believing it would be his first DC role before he was ultimately cast as Aquaman.

Unlike her famous cousin, Kara was just a young Kryptonian whose life changed forever when her home world was destroyed. Thanks to the determination of her parents, Zor El and Alura, Argo City survives the catastrophe by breaking away from Krypton.
But survival comes at a devastating cost. Years later, the mysterious radiation from Kryptonite slowly poisons everyone in the city, leaving Kara with no choice but to leave everything behind and begin a new life on Earth alongside her cousin, Superman. Thanks to her father for devising a way for her to escape Argo City to Earth.
Even after embracing her new identity, Earth never truly feels like home. Instead, Kara spends her days flying across the galaxy, exploring strange planets, chasing excitement and celebrating life on her own terms with her loyal companion, Krypto. While Superman hopes she will finally settle down, Kara prefers the freedom of the vast universe.

Everything changes when she crosses paths with Ruthye Marye Knoll, a fearless young girl whose family was brutally murdered by the notorious outlaw Krem of the Yellow Hills. Ruthye is driven by revenge and believes Supergirl is the only one capable of helping her. At first, Kara refuses to get involved. But when Krem's gang strikes again and Krypto is left fighting for his life, the mission becomes deeply personal.
Their journey takes them across dangerous worlds filled with ruthless space pirates, mysterious bounty hunters, desperate settlements and terrifying criminal gangs. Along the way, Kara is forced to confront impossible choices that challenge everything she believes about justice, mercy and the responsibilities that come with being a hero.
Along the way, she reluctantly collaborates with Lobo, whose only motivation is money.
Will Kara finally embraces her destiny as Supergirl or will she continues her hobby of planet-hopping?

MY REVIEW
What I Like:
- I love the character development of Kara - she has her flaws - a lot of it.
- I made the right choice watching this one - it is a stand-alone from the series.
What I Don't Like:
- If I were being picky - Jason as Lobo seems out of place. Perhaps because I always think of Jason as Aquaman.
Will I Watch It Again: Yes, I would.
Overall: 4.7/ 5.0
