A family is brutally murdered, heads severed from their bodies, during a ritual meant to exorcise a demon from their possessed child. Only the spiritual leader who led the rite survives.

Soon after, Daru, a journalist, is assigned to interview Ningrum, a 19-year-old girl accused of killing the entire family. Locked away in a mental institution, Ningrum shocks Daru with a chilling confession. She insists she is not the murderer. Instead, she claims to be a demon slayer, sent into the human world to hunt and destroy creatures of darkness, disguising themselves as humans.

What begins as a routine crime investigation quickly spirals into a descent through the supernatural. The deeper Daru digs, the more he realizes he’s trapped between truth and terror. He is pulled into a battle far beyond the realm of human understanding. Behind the massacre lies a centuries-old war between Ningrum and Pakunjara, a sinister cultist who worships dark forces and is plotting something far more horrifying than a simple ritual.

Pakunjara’s goal is monstrous. She is to gather human hearts and resurrect Eyang Guru, an ancient demonic master of her sect. Not just any hearts - a human that has seen the afterlife. The murders that terrorize the town, especially those targeting religious leaders, are all part of her ritual of blood and resurrection. As fear spreads, Daru becomes entangled in a world where faith, death and damnation collide. He himself does not believe in superstitious, yet he has to believe in order to win the war.

Caught in the crossfire, Daru must decide whether Ningrum is truly insane or humanity’s last defense against the rising darkness.

Where will you stand, a possibly mad woman or your own belief, when the future of humankind lies on your decision?
