Salma and Arman are the picture of a young couple in love, basking in the sweetness of newlywed life. When Salma becomes pregnant and Arman’s workload intensifies, they decide to move into his childhood home so his mother can watch over her. For Salma, the move holds another hope—that her nightmares will finally end. With the help of her best friend Indri, they pack up their old place. Yet as they leave, a dark shadow lingers in the house, watching.

At their new home, Salma suggests holding a doa selamat, a prayer ritual to bless the house. Arman agrees, but his mother resists, excusing herself with claims of ill health. Midway through the prayer, rain pours, and she storms outside, furious at her drenched furniture.

Soon after, Diah, a friendly neighbor, introduces herself. Eager for connection in the unfamiliar village, Salma is relieved to find comfort in her company.

However, it seems that her nightmare didn't stop. As the disturbances intensify, Salma’s emotional state begins to fracture. Every creak in the night, every flicker in the shadows chips away at her sense of safety. The walls of their home—once a sanctuary—become suffocating, pressing in with unseen malice. Her suspicion grows, and the thought of Arman’s late hours morphs into a gnawing fear of betrayal. What once was love is now riddled with doubt. She also feels hatred towards her, coming from her mother-in-law.

Desperate for answers, Salma turns to Dian, who now has becomes both a confidante and a source of unease, feeding Salma fragments of knowledge that blur the line between salvation and further entrapment.

Unbeknownst to Salma and Arman, their home has become the playground of Jin Dasim, a spirit whispered in folklore as a destroyer of households. Unlike ghosts that merely haunt, Dasim is far more insidious. It doesn’t just scare—it whispers, divides, and poisons love with suspicion. Jealousy becomes venom, silence curdles into slander, and harmony turns into chaos. Slowly, the marriage once built on love begins to rot from within.

Was Dasim the unseen hand tearing the marriage apart—or was there a deeper reason for its presence?

MY REVIEW

What I Like:

  • The performances by the cast amplify the tension and conflict with finesse.
  • The film’s everyday conflicts—pregnancy, overtime, in-law drama—make its horror hit harder, because it feels like it could happen to anyone.

What I Don't Like:

  • I don't like the cliffhanging scene. Now, I have to wait for the next one.

Will I Watch It Again: I don't mind watching it again.

Overall: 4.4/ 5.0

The pictures are taken from multiple sources on the Internet. Thank you.
