Kat Boyles is barely making ends meet as a stand-up comedian and improv teacher in London when she gets an unexpected offer from Detective Sergeant Graham Billings of the Metropolitan Police. He wants her help to recruit actors for minor undercover sting operations. Seeing it as a way to make rent, Kat ropes in two of her students: Marlon, an ambitious young actor looking for his big break, and Hugh, a sweet but socially awkward IT guy with a talent for roleplay.

For their first job, they are to infiltrate a dodgy shop selling counterfeit cigarettes. Instead of getting the cigarettes, they were brought to see Fly, who is a drug dealer. Fly who is a slick mid-level dealer, mistakenly assumes they’re pros. When he hands them a stash of stolen cocaine to sell, Kat takes a wild gamble—tricking an Albanian gang into buying back their own drugs. Fly is impressed and recruits them for deeper jobs, while Graham secretly riding their coattails and pushes them further undercover. He wants to get to the root of the crime, he claims.

But things go sideways during their first job with Fly.  A man they intimidate dies during a chase. Unknowingly, they were blackmailing the Iceman, a retired assasin. The Iceman was fleeing the scene before being run down by a passing car. The trio suddenly find themselves seen as legit criminals. As the stakes rise, Kat learns the truth: Graham isn’t just a puppet master. He is actually a cop who is just a year away from retiring and he wants a big payday prior to his retirement. Before she can act, he’s taken out by Shosh, Fly’s ruthless associate.

Fly’s boss, the powerful and dangerous Metcalfe, starts hunting for Graham's accomplices. And Metcalfe managed to trick them. Fly lets them walk.

But police manages to catch them up and threatens to charge them with no hard evidence. In a final twist, Kat cuts a deal: she convinces Fly to wear a wire during a high-stakes meeting with the Albanians in exchange for immunity.

Will their little scheme be able to capture Metcalfe?
