Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes [Movie Review]

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes [Movie Review] | I have never like sequels as the next one tends to get worse than the previous one.

I hope this one will break the curse.

Years after Caesar's death, the apes have wondered and roamed the Earth, into different clans whereas humans become feral.

Noa, Anaya and Soona, teenage apes of falcon clans are looking for items for their coming of age ceremony - one of which is eagle eggs. Koro, Noa's father is the falcon master of the clan, thus puts extra pressure for Noa to find himself an egg for the ceremony.

The night before the ceremony, Noa finds out that one of the humans follow him home and eats their food from the clan's storage. A scuffle ensues and Noa's egg breaks during the scuffle. The human flees. Not wanting to wait another season to join the ceremony, Noa decides to look for another egg and promises his friends that he'll be back before the ceremony.

He stumbles upon a tribe of ape raiders while on the quest. His encounter leads to a devastating raid on his village, orchestrated by the ruthless Sylva, who enslaves Noa's clan. With his village in ruins and his father buried, Noa embarks on a daring rescue mission, aided by the wise orang utan, Raka. Raka despises Sylva who enslaves others in the name of upholding Caesar's philosophy as he knows that Caesar would want all apes to unite and live harmoniously with the humans.

Their path crosses with a human scavenger, whom Raka compassionately names Nova, only to discover she is Mae, a speaker of the lost human tongue. Mae reveals the location of the raiders' settlement, a beachfront encampment near an old human vault. The trio's journey is fraught with danger, including a harrowing ambush led by Sylva, where Raka's bravery saves Mae but costs him his life.

Captured and brought to the apes' camp, Noa reunites with his clan and encounters Proximus Caesar, a self-proclaimed ape king with ambitions to unlock the vault's secrets. Noa's alliance with Mae deepens when she reveals the existence of a hidden vault entry and a book that could restore humanity's speech. Their plan to infiltrate the vault involves a daring scheme to plant explosives, aiming to destroy the settlement and free Noa's clan.

Will Noa be able to free his clan and safe others, including Mae? Can apes really trust and live harmoniously with humans?
