Bandit [Movie Review] | I almost didn't recognize Josh Duhamel in the poster. But actually I scrolled past the movie poster when I saw Mel Gibson in it - he starred in a few bad movies lately.

Will Josh shine in this one?

Gilbert was convicted and sent to a US prison in Michigan. But he successfully escaped the minimum security prison and hitched a ride into Canada.

He wants to go straight and starts looking for a job. He even buys a 'Robert Whiteman' identity as the job as an ice-cream seller needs a proper ID. He stays at a homeless shelter that runs by Andrea, who gradually fallen for his charms. 

When the ice-cream business goes bankrupt, he starts thinking of his next moves, now that he and Andrea is dating. An idea of robbing a bank comes across his thoughts when he saw a minimum security of a bank transfer service. He tries it out and realises that the security at the banks are very minimal. And he successfully robbed a bank at his first try.

From then on, wearing disguises, wigs, fake nose and different outfits, he rob banks. He the begins flying around the country robbing multiple cities in a day that the media dub him as The Flying Bandit. 

Addicted to the adrenaline rush, he offers partnerships with Tommy Kay, a reputed loanshark and gangster, who will fund him for his travel and will later get a cut from his robbing the bank. 

His act now catches  the sights of Detective John, who will stop at nothing to catch him.

Who will excel at the end, Robert/ Gilbert @ Tommy @ Det. John?

 

MY REVIEW

Plot: 4.7/ 5.0 I like the story and the plot. It is predictable but entertaining at the same time.

Cast: 4.8/ 5.0 Dare I say that this is the best that Josh has ever acted? Others were quite good too. Mel? I would say someone else could become a better gangster, but he's ok in this one.

Will I Watch It Again: Yes, I don't mind watching it again.
