Alithea is a lonely narratologist who travels to different locations each year to attend conference on story-telling. On her recent trip to Istanbul, she buys a beautiful antique bottle. She releases a djinn trapped inside it when she was cleaning it. 

As expected, the Djinn offers to grant her three wishes but Alithea argues that every wish will always backfires, so she doesn't want to use her wishes. 

Not wanting to be let down, the Djinn shares three stories of his past experiences in granting wishes and how he ended up trapped in the bottle. 

His very first master was Queen of Sheba, who was the Djinn's cousin and lover, who attracted to King Solomon and later he imprisoned the Djinn in the bottle so that he could keep Sheba for himself. 

The second master is Gulten, a young concubine who accidentally found the bottle. She wishes that Prince Mustafa to fall in love with her and her second wish is to bear Mustafa's child. When Mustafa was killed by his paranoid father, the Djinn rushes to Gulten's side and forces her to wish for her own safety. Before she could do so, she was killed by assassins instructed by Mustafa's father. 

The Djinn now wonders around the palace, invisible to others as the bottle was hidden by Gulten under the floor. More than 100 years later, a young Prince Murad and Ibrahim almost tumbles upon the bottle but unsuccessfully uncover it. Years later, one of Ibrahim's concubine stumbles upon the bottle. The scared and bewildered concubine wishes for the Djinn to be trapped again inside the bottle and to be cast into the sea, when asks for what she wishes for by the Djinn. 

His final master was Zefir, a young wife of a Turkish merchant. Zefir wishes for knowledge and the Djinn grants her wish. As her knowledge grew, Zefir felt that the Djinn is crowding her life and she wishes that they have never met, leaving the Djinn to be trapped in the bottle again. 

After hearing these stories, Alithea wishes for her and the Djinn to fall in love. 

But can they be happy together, woman and the Djinn?

MY REVIEW

Plot: 4.4/5.0 I thought it will be a movie about magic, but it is actually a romantic movie. It'll teach you about loving, losing and having. 

Cast: 4.5/ 5.0 Good job to all.

Will I Watch It Again: Yes, I don't mind watching it again.
