Hot Seat [Movie Review]

Hot Seat [Movie Review] | I came across this movie while going through the net. As there were nothing else to see, and I see Mel Gibson and Shannen Doherty in the cast list.

But was it worth it?

Orlando, an ex-convict, is trying to make ends meet by providing his expertise in IT. His wife is not too happy that he is still working in the same field that he was caught. He didn't know that he was working for some thugs until he was arrested.

Now in a new place, he tries his best to earn an honest job. He works with Enzo, a young IT guy who always remind him that there is no shortcut in life, and that applies to IT solutions too.

One fine day, on his daughter's birthday, Orlando decides to still come to work, as he feels uncomfortable staying at home.

Out of nowhere, a voice comes out from his speaker, instructing him to break into high-level banking institution and deposit the money into his own account. When Orlando refuses, the voice tells him that his seat is wired with a bomb that will detonate if he stands up or goes out of the carpet that he is on.

The voice also reminds him that his house is also wired with bomb and will detonate if Orlando tries to alert the police.

Meanwhile, Wallace, a veteran that is now working as a bomb-squad is investigating a bombing accident, thinks that the first bombing is just a practice.  When he hears that a lift exploded in a building with a guy in it, he quickly rushes to the scene.

It was Enzo in the lift, the voice detonates that bomb in the lift when he tries to run from the office.

Now, the word is out that Orlando is the one that is detonating bombs around the city.

Can Orlando gets out of this mess?

MY REVIEW

Plot: 2.5/ 5.0 Oh my. The plot was a bit predictable with a twist thrown in there. The script keeps me cringing as we know that Mel is not of this standard.

Cast: 3.0/ 5.0 If not for Mel, the movie would have scored much lower. The daughter has a script made for 7 years old. The wife has no expression at all. And some of the policemen in the movie does not have any expression at all: you are a possible bombing location - how can you have not expression at all?

Will I Watch It Again: No. And you shouldn't too.

The pictures are taken from multiple sources on the Internet. Thank you.
