The Guilty [Movie Review]

The Guilty [Movie Review] | I have to admit that I was unfamiliar with this one. But when I saw that Jake is starring in it, I decided to watch it.

Was it a good decision to watch it?

The movie starts with a scene showing a huge bush fire in California and the scenes in a 911 call-centre. Joe Baylor is a short-tempered cop that has been demoted to be a 911 call-centre operator due to an ongoing case investigation involving him. What the case is, it will only be revealed at the end of the movie.

Being short-tempered, Joe tries his best to control his composure when answering the calls, especially the ones that are not life-or-death. At some points, he even blames the callers for their stupidity and carelessness that causes their misfortunes.

A call from a Emily who is currently being held in a moving van has Joe's interest to assist him. He assists her to stay calm and answer his question as Joe is determined to rescue Emily from her abductor.

There are protocols to follow and Joe has little respect and patience towards the long and winding protocols. He starts to cut-short the standard protocols as he really want to bring Emily home to her family.

Somehow, his assisting Emily to safety has become personal.

Is that wise, making it personal? Was it the right decision?

MY REVIEW

Plot: 4.7/ 5.0 I watch this one without watching the original one. And I love the plot. The tagline "Listen. Carefully." applies beautifully to this one.

And I kinda hate Jake here - so rude! Hahaha

Cast: 4.9/ 5.0 Considering that Jake is almost alone throughout the movie, except for some interactions with other operators in the call-centre, Jake did good. At times, way too emotional too.

Will I Watch It Again: Yes, I don't mind watching it again.

The pictures are taken from multiple sources on the Internet. Thank you.
