So, here is another horror and the scary movie with James Wan's touches into it.

And of course, me being a horror movie avid, I just have to watch the movie - some sort of support to a fellow Sarawakian.

All thanks to Screenbite and Klips My for the invitations.

SPOILER ALERT

Do I look thin in this light?
Something/ someone is lurking in the dark. Its ultimate goal is to destroy the happiness of a family.

It started with killing Martin's father whilst he was working is a mannequin factory. Devastated, Martin's mother, Sophie seems to take the lost pretty bad as she needed some medication to deal with the death.

Oh no. Not the pedo again!
Martin realised that his mother has been acting weirder than before when she started to talk to herself. When the night falls in and the darkness enveloped the house, his mother seems to become more talkative - as if she has a talking companion. Martin realised that this 'thing' lives in the dark, thus he was unable to sleep through the nights.

It is ok to fart in the lift, even when it is full of other people. I did that too.
Martin's half-sister, Rebecca was called to his school when he was always found sleeping in the class. Realised that their unwell mother was not in the right state of mind to take care of Martin, Rebecca took him out of the house and brought him into her house.

Do not go to the pretty light! Do not go to the pretty light!

Kami datang nak beraya!
It seems that the thing followed Martin into the house and started to terrorize Rebecca too. Determined to get to the bottom of the mystery, Rebecca searched her mother's house for clues where she found a box full of evidence (apparently her late father did some research about the mother's background and her connection to the 'thing'). When confronted, her mother's denial made the matter worse.

They claimed that this eyeliner is waterproof!
What is the 'thing'?
Why is it so determined to destroy the family's happiness?

Plot: 4.9/5.0. I love the twists of the plot that keeps me awake through out the movie. You will keep on guessing what is going to happen next (and most of the time, I failed).

The Act: 5.0/ 5.0. Boy, was I amazed by the cast, especially by the act of Teresa Palmer (Rebecca) and Gabriel Bateman (Martin). You could literally feel their emotions which made you feel scared too. Very believable!

Will I watch it again: I would and will buy the DVD too!
