The movie starts with the backstory of the myth about a Spanish expedition that travels to South America in search of the Tears of the Moon tree whose petals are believed can cure any illness, heal injuries and lift curses. Stranded and lost in the jungle, the remaining crew was saved by the local tribe and nursed back to health using the petals. When questioned about the tree's whereabouts, the tribe refuses to share the information, leading to the Spanish destroying the village. The village leader put a curse on the crew with his dying breathe - that the crew will never die and will never be able to leave sight of the river.

Hundreds of years later, Dr. Lily and her brother try to sell the idea of searching for the tree to the Royal Society Explorers association, which was turned down and mocked upon. Lily steals the key artifact that could lead her to the tree - am arrowhead from the society and heads to South America with her brother. Lily's aim is to get the petal and revitalize the medicine world.

Her interest in searching for the petal is shared by Prince Joachim, a German aristocrat who has been funding the search for the arrowhead in the first place. Of course, Lily's action angers him and he follows her to South America too.

In her search for a cruise that could bring her to the tree in heart of the Amazon jungle, Lily meets with Frank, who runs the cheapest jungle river cruises at Porto Velho.

As they were about to start their cruise, a submarine surfaces and starts firing at the boat. It seems that Prince Joachim has managed to track Lily down and intends to get the arrowhead from her. Barely managed to shake Prince Joachim from their behind, the trio continues their journey.

Along the cruise, Lily learns that Frank is not as he appears to be and questions whether she could trust Frank. When they were attacked and captured by a tribe and later by the cursed Spaniards, Lily learns a greater deal about Frank and the tree.

As that was not enough, Prince Joachim captures MacGregor and forces Lily to impart the arrowhead for his brother's life.

Can Lily survive the deadly cruise and Frank? Will she sacrifice her dreams for a love that seems impossible?

MY REVIEW

Plot: 4.7/ 5.0 A very direct to the point kinda movie - a dangerous journey to search for a mythical tree.

The twist is not everything is as it appears to be.

The movie is very funny, I would say. I laughed a lot throughout the movie. Logical? If you want logic, even news nowadays are illogical. Hahaha.

My only complaints - some CGI could have been done better.

Cast: 4.8/ 5.0 A great performance by everyone. Love the comedic elements.

Will I watch it again: Yes, I would!

The pictures are taken from multiple sources on the Internet. Thank you.
