The Runner [Movie Review] | I know it’s Gal Gadot and some of you might come for me for watching her movies. 

But just let me watch this one first. I’ll let you know what I think afterwards, so you don’t have to watch it if you don’t want to.

Maia is a London prosecutor preparing to take on one of the biggest cases of her career. Crime boss Tommy Boyd is finally facing trial and a crucial witness could be the key to putting him away. But before Maia can step into the courtroom, her ordinary morning takes a terrifying turn.

After dropping her diabetic son Noah at school, Maia heads out for a run. Her phone rings. It is Noah's number, but the voice on the other end belongs to a stranger. He claims to be working for Boyd and tells Maia that Noah has been kidnapped.

Worse, he has hacked her phone and is tracking her every move.

The rules are simple. Follow his instructions and Noah lives. Disobey him and her son dies.

Her first task is waiting inside a dumpster. Maia discovers Noah's backpack, along with a gun connected to Boyd. The caller then delivers the real shock. He has manipulated Noah's insulin pump and placed him in a diabetic coma. Maia has exactly one hour to reach the Excelsus Hotel, where protected witness Radian Tafa is staying and kill him.

What follows is a frantic race through London.

With the caller constantly in her ear, Maia is pushed through crowded streets, trains, tunnels and unexpected obstacles. Every attempt to seek help puts Noah in greater danger. Meanwhile, the caller digs deeper into Maia's personal life, revealing secrets she thought were buried forever.

As the pressure intensifies, Maia begins to realise that this is not simply about getting her son back. Someone has gone to extraordinary lengths to destroy her, manipulate her and force her to become something she never believed she could be.

With the clock ticking and Noah's life hanging in the balance, Maia must decide just how far she is willing to go to save her son.

But when everything you know is being used against you, who can you really trust?

MY REVIEW

What I Like:  

• Everything that could go wrong in us human's life happened in this movie - she ie not a superhero.
• I get to visit London via Maia's running track.

What I Don't Like:

• No new recipe here. The movie is watchable but don't expect much action. 

Will I Watch It Again: Nope. Once is enough.
