- This marked Hudson Meek’s final on-screen role. He died at 16 in December 2024 following a fall from a moving vehicle, and the film is partly dedicated to his memory.
- Oscar Isaac was initially cast as Greg Platt, but Ewan McGregor ultimately took the role, with Brendan Fraser, Rafe Spall, Christian Slater, Sam Rockwell and Matthew McConaughey also considered.
- The giant snake in the film is Titanoboa, a real extinct snake that lived in northern South America around 60 million years ago, after the dinosaurs went extinct.

Set in 1982, Denise is an aspiring novelist living in Flowervale, Michigan, with her husband Greg, their children Audrey and Brian, and their beloved dog Starbuck. Their family life is far from perfect. Denise is quietly considering divorce, while Greg is hiding the fact that he has lost his regular job and is secretly working as a pizza delivery driver.
Then, strange things begin happening.
A mysterious plant suddenly appears in a neighbour’s garden, only for the local librarian to identify it as a species believed to have disappeared millions of years ago. A gigantic pile of animal poo appears nearby. Radio broadcasts warn of unusual solar activity and then a violent storm hits Oak Street. During the storm, a huge white light suddenly engulfs Oak Street, accompanied by a change in atmospheric pressure and a power outage.
The next morning, Denise and Greg go out to look for Starbuck. Then they realised that Oak Street is no longer surrounded by the familiar suburban landscape. Instead, they are now trapped in a prehistoric world filled with dinosaurs and other creatures that have not existed for millions of years.

As panic spreads, Denise, Greg, Audrey and Brian struggle to survive while searching for Starbuck. Audrey begins to suspect that the mysterious flashes are actually wormholes, somehow transporting the entire neighbourhood through time.
Greg finally admits he knows Denise wants a divorce and reveals he has lost his job. Meanwhile, Brian and Audrey venture outside to find Starbuck, only to witness Mel being attacked by pterosaurs. Joined by Jeannette, whose parents have also been killed, the children reunite with Denise and Greg, who discover a mysterious wormhole. After narrowly escaping a herd of dinosaurs, the family reconciles.
Their relief is short-lived when an Allosaurus attacks, killing Greg as he protects the others. The survivors soon discover the wormhole reappears at regular intervals above Mrs. Valcourt’s house.
As Jeannette jumps through, Brian narrowly misses it and is grabbed by a Tropeognathus, but Starbuck comes to his rescue. Seeking shelter inside the house, they are confronted by more prehistoric creatures, resulting in Mrs. Valcourt’s death. With nowhere else to go, the group races back to the roof and leaps through the wormhole.
Where will the wormhole take them this time - to safety or into yet another colossal catastrophe?

MY REVIEW
What I Like:
- The concept of the wormhole bringing the jurassic world into the present is kinda cool.
- A beautiful performance by the cast.
- Not only do they have to face the dinosaurs but they also have to face their family problems too.
What I Don't Like:
- Too short and the end feels rushed.
Will I Watch It Again: Yes, I don't mind watching it again.
Overall: 4.6/ 5.0
