RM10 Million and Counting: Papa Zola The Movie Keeps On Climbing | Have you watched the movie yet?
If not, you should. Bring your kids, your family and the people you love. You will laugh, you will feel something and you will walk out with more than just memories of a good film. I am confident all of you will enjoy it together.

Papa Zola The Movie is no longer just another animated release. Since opening in cinemas on 11 December, the MONSTA Studio and Astro Shaw production has surpassed the RM10 million box-office mark, firmly establishing itself as one of the most talked-about local films of the year.
Its appeal goes far beyond action and visuals, although younger viewers are clearly captivated by its energetic sequences and polished animation. What truly sets the film apart is its emotional honesty. Papa Zola The Movie has sparked what many describe as a “truth phenomenon”, with adult audiences taking to social media to share personal reflections inspired by its raw and relatable storytelling. The film explores modern pressures, sacrifice, silent struggles and the meaning of success, themes rarely addressed so openly in local animated cinema.

By embracing sincerity, the film becomes more than entertainment. It becomes a mirror. It proves that animation can be mature, brave and deeply rooted in real life experiences, challenging the notion that animated films are meant only for escapism.

Director and writer Nizam Abd Razak, who is also MONSTA’s Chief Executive Officer, expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming response, noting that audience reactions confirmed the film as a story born from real life. Astro Shaw Head and Executive Producer Raja Jastina Raja Arshad echoed this sentiment, thanking viewers and encouraging families to watch the film together during the school holidays.
Now screening across Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei, Papa Zola The Movie is set for international releases beginning in January 2026, signalling a confident step forward for Malaysian animation on the global stage.
