Shazam! Fury of the Gods [Movie Review] | This one is one of the movies that I have been waiting for. A superhero movie - no other reason for me to watch it.

As I was abroad when the movie drops, I went on and watched it on Bangkok's screen. The subtitle was in Thai, but I don't need the subtitle, do I?

• The Daughters of Atlas are characters created for the film only, so you'll never find them in the comics.
• This is the twelfth film in the DC Extended Universe.
• Ladon the dragon is the guardian of Hesperides' garden in the Greek mythology.   

The movie starts with two ladies in soldier's war attire walk into a museum. They are particularly interested in the Wizard's broken staff. Way too interested I would say that one of the breaks the display case and holds the top half of the staff. One could see power surges inside her when she holds the staff. The other one holds the bottom part and the power surges inside her too. 

They turn everyone in the museum into stone statues before taking the staff back to the imprisoned Wizard and make him repair the staff to restore its power. Turns out the duo are Hespera and Kalypso, the daughters of the Titan Atlas. 

Meanwhile, Billy and his family is on the verge of disbanding. Everybody wants to have their own take and life beside Shazam. Most of their heroic acts goes awry and dubbed as failure. In one of his dreams, he is warned by the Wizard that the daughters of Atlas are looking for him. 

He gathers his Shazam family and have them research about the daughters. 

Freddy is still being bullied in school. Despite that, he still helps others, including Anne, the new girl at school. 

He was attacked by the daughters of Atlas during one of his meeting with him, rendering him lost of his Shazam power. And Anne is actually the youngest daughter of Atlas, Anthea. Freddy is kidnapped and the city is placed under a mystical dome placed by Hespera. Freddy learns the motive behind the attack - the daughters wants to take revenge on the Wizard for killing their father and share his power with the kids on Earth. 

The rest of the family keep on researching how to out-best the daughters. The daughters bicker on where to plant the seed of the Tree of Life. Kalypso wants to plant it on Earth and take over Earth whereas the other two wants to revive their realm. 

Kalypso wins after hurting Hespera and proceeds to plant the seed on Earth - unleashing various monsters on Earth. 

How will Billy save his family and Earth?

MY REVIEW

Plot: 4.7/ 5.0 I love this one. The character building feels enough for the sisters. And we get to know more of the Shazam family members and also the origin of Shazam power. 

Cast: 4.8/ 5.0 Come on. Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu - could you get any better than this? Well, you can actually but these duo are great!

Will I Watch It Again: Yes, I would. Anyone want to come with?
