The Lost City [Movie Review]

The Lost City [Movie Review] | Yes! A rom-com with Sandy in it. Of course it is a must watch for me. I hope that it will be as good as Miss Congeniality was.

The movies starts with Loretta having writer's block in completing her romance-adventure novel. Her previous novels revolves around a fictional dreamy hero named Dash McMohan, who in real life is portrayed by Alan Caprison, a cover model.

It seems that  the death of her husband makes it harder for her to write her novel as most of the adventures were based on their historic digging adventures together. But as her publisher, Beth keep on nagging her to finish her novel, she decides to end the novel series by ending Dash altogether.

On the very first book tour with Alan, she realised that most of her readers (if not all) reads her novel because they were captivated by the character Dash that Alan played beautifully during tours.

When the tour goes south, thanks to Alan, Loretta just storms out of the venue. As she rides on the car, she realises that she takes the wrong car and she is now kidnapped.

She meets with Abigail Fairfax, an eccentric billionaire who realises that Loretta's novels were based on actual historic diggings. Based on the novels, he believes that he has discovered the lost city on a remote Atlantic island mentioned in Loretta's novel. He is convinced that the city is also the location of the missing 'Crown of Fire', a priceless treasure that Loretta shared described in her novel.

When she declines to decipher an ancient map, Abigail have her kidnapped and took her to the island.

Meanwhile, Alan witnesses Loretta's kidnapping and asks Beth for assistance to find Loretta. He then recruits Jack Trainer, a former Navy Seal turned CIA operative whom he met during a yoga retreat.

Together, though against Jack's wish, they frees Loretta (with very minimal help from Alan). As they were leaving the base camp, Jack is shot in the head, leaving Alan and Loretta to fend for themselves.

The duo now has to travel through the wild jungle while running from the thugs, with no weapon whatsoever to defend themselves.

Based on a folk song from a local, Loretta deduces that the crown is hidden in a sinkhole in the jungle.

Can the duo defend themselves and at the same time, discover the treasure?

MY REVIEW

Plot: 4.3/ 5.0 It is a pretty straight forward comedy - except for the treaure-hunting part. There are a lot of actions in here and you'll be laughing a lot too.

Cast: 4.6/ 5.0 With such a cast, you cannot go wrong.

Will I Watch It Again: Yes, I don't mind watching it again.

The pictures are taken from multiple sources on the Internet. Thank you.
