GLAM Beef Omelette with Aussie Beef Shabu-Shabu

GLAM Beef Omelette with Aussie Beef Shabu-Shabu | Yes. Rawlins do cook, although on very rare occasions. As I am not an expert cook, I will always look for the super easy and simple recipe to try. And the dishes can be eaten anytime (the life of a singleton is like that!).

And a dish that I don't mind eating anytime involves egg! So, I tried cooking omelette with Aussie Beef Shabu-Shabu.

I love using Aussie Beef as the meat is tender, easily cut and thaw fast. I tried cooking with Aussie Beef last time and I love its tender meat, no matter how I cut it (contradictory to popular belief that meat will become rubbery if you cut it wrong).

So here goes, the recipe for GLAM Beef Omelette, by yours truy.

Prep time: 5 - 10 minutes (depending on how fast you are. I took almost 10 minutes hahaha)
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Serving: 2 - 3 persons (or in my case, 1 person for 2 - 3 meal times)

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 500 gm Aussie Beef Shabu-Shabu, slice to thin stripes (or mince it, however you like it)
  • 5 cloves of red onion (to thinly slice)
  • 2 cloves of garlic (to crush and slice)
  • 1 each, red and yellow capsicum (I sliced and diced half of each)
  • 1/4 potato (finely sliced)
  • 6 tablespoons cooking oil
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • half cup of fresh milk
  • Parmesan cheese (to taste)

Cooking the Beef Filing

  • Heat the oil in the non stick pan
  • Saute the onions and garlics
  • Fry the beef
  • Add in black pepper and salt to taste
  • Fry the beef until it is brown and a bit dry
  • Add the capcisums and potato
  • Continue fry until the beef is dry
  • Take the whole thing out and put into a plate. Put aside.

Making the GLAM Beef Omelette

  • Using the same pan, heat some oil
  • Crack the eggs and pour the milk in. Whisk the mixture
  • Add in the fried beef filing. Mix well.
  • Pour the egg mixture onto pan.
  • Put on the lid until the middle part of the omelette starting to cook
  • Pour the cheese, to taste (or don't if you don't like cheese)
  • Close the lid again.
  • When the middle is solid, it is time to flip the omelette.
  • What I did to safely flip the omelette is to cover the plate on the surface of the pan. Flip the pan to ensure the omelette lands softly on the plate. Then slowly slide the omelette back into the hot pan to cook the other surface of the omelette.
  • Cook till the omelette is fully cooked (or however you like your omelette).
  • The omelette is ready to eat.
  • Garnish it however you like or eat it however you love. I eat it for breakfast and later, for lunch, I eat it together with rice.
