The Martian - Movie Review

Kita berhadapan dengan pelbagai risiko dalam kehidupan seharian kita. Memandu ke tempat kerja ada risiko. Makan ada risiko. Even tidur pun ada risiko kan. But whatever it is, we will do anything to survive. It is not how far you fall, but whether you can rise from it all.

SYNOPSIS

A mission to Mars went awry when one of the astronauts got lost in the sandstorm and presumed dead.

Stranded in Mars, all alone - what will you do

Being left behind in a God forsaken planet, 140 million miles away from Earth and all alone, Matt Watney refused to give up even though the food rations could only last him for a few months. The nearest and fastest rescue team will only be able to reach him in 3 years time.
Putting his botanist expertise to work, he 'scienced' his food ration and managed to plant potatoes in the barren land. He also engineered some of the equipment to assist him in planting the food and tried to send signals to Earth, alerting the Earth that he is still alive and waiting for the help to arrive.

His constant struggle to face the harsh environment almost brought me to tears at some points and most of the time I was amazed by his will to survive even when the possibility is close to none. 

NASA trying out ways to rescue Matt

When NASA learned about his survival, they tried everything to communicate with him and assisted him in surviving Mars. Meanwhile, NASA was contemplating whether to send a rescue mission to Mars to retrieve Matt or just let him be.
Will Matt survive Mars? Will there be a rescue team for Matt?
MY REVIEW Plot : 4.95/ 5.0. The plot for two-hour movie  is simple yet heart-tugging. Matt's skill in surviving Mars is the main focus of the movie and the movie is beautifully crafted that you would stay awake throughout the screening.
Penghayatan : 4.8/ 5.0. Matt Damon certainly did his job tremendously! And I almost believe that all the actors are either a real astronaut, a space engineer and a botanist! The charisma and persona was eminent throughout the movie.
Will I watch it again : Yes, I will and will buy the DVD too.
