Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle: Mutant Mayhem [Movie Review] | Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is the single most beloved mutant, especially for those growing in the 80s and 90s. And I am one of those - even until now I still love the cartoon.

• This is the first TMNT movie where the Turtles wear arm and leg bands that matches the color of their masks. 
• Also this is the first TMNT that have fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.  

Dr Baxter, a rogue scientist is being hunted for having created a new mutagen to create mutants. He managed to create a few mutant animal family, starting with a housefly before the squadron from TCRI invaded his secret laboratory and causes an explosion, killing Dr Baxter in the process. The mutagen is lost, along with the mutated mutant animal family.

Unknowing to all, the mutagen actually fell into the drain where it causes four turtles and a rat to mutate. The rat, Splinter becomes the father to the four turtles, Michaelangelo, Leonardo, Raphael and Donatello and raises them to distrust human. He trains them with ninjutsu while telling them to always stay in the sewer, not interacting with human. As they grow older, the turtles are now teenagers and long to live and go to school, just like normal human teenagers, much to their father's dismay. 

During one of their supply runs, the Turtles come across April O'Neil, whose bike was stolen so the Turtles decide to assist her. They defeated the gang and accidentally revealed themselves to her. Amazed that April is not afraid of them, the Turtles decide to befriend her. Coincidently, April has been investigating a series of crimes by a criminal known as 'Superfly'. Now they decide to help each other.

They intercept a piece of stolen technology and meet Superfly under a bridge. They discover that Superfly is the mutant created by Dr Baxter, and he is not alone. He has a group of mutants as his followers. Ecstatic to meet other mutants, the Turtles and the gang quickly become close. 

When Superfly reveals his plan to mutate all animals on Earth and to dominate the Earth, the Turtles decide to intervene. During the scuffle, the gang managed to run with the technology and the Turtles to be captured by TCRI. TCRI starts extracting the Turtles' gene to create the mutagen.

April runs to see Splinter for help and rescue the Turtles. 

The Turtles manage to track the gang and convince them to abandon their plan for world domination. Together they destroy the machine. 

Some of the mutagen falls into water and mutates Superfly along with the marine wildlife. Superfly becomes a giant monster and mutates furthermore with animals from a nearby zoo.

Now together, the rest of the gang and the Turtles try to stop the giant mutated Superfly. 

The crowd sees the Turtles and the gang for the first time assumes that they are the bad ones, fellow monsters to Superfly.

Can they save the city without being branded as freaks and criminals?

MY REVIEW

Plot: 4.5/ 5.0 A reboot to the TMNT with drawing-like animation, just like the Spiderverse, it is the trend nowadays. 

I like the plot as they reboot it to match the current era. Nice and inclusive. 

Cast: 4.5/ 5.0 No complaint. 

Will I Watch It Again: I might be biased - I will watch it again.
