The Legend of Tarzan [Movie Review]

Just as The Jungle Book, I grew up reading all about Tarzan and its legend.

Human. Nature
Back in my kampung  in Sarawak, I even had a treehouse so that I could pretend that I am living in the woods, just like Tarzan did. So, naturally, it is a must for me to watch it when the legend comes to live on the silver screen.

The movie started with Captain Leon Rom meeting with Chief Mbonga, cutting a deal to get the famous opal diamond to save Belgium from being bankrupt by delivering Tarzan to Chief Mbonga.

Tarzan has long left Africa and is now known as Lord John Greystoke. He is more modern and aristocratic.

England wants to send him to Africa to visit the development made by Belgium in Congo but John/ Tarzan is a bit reluctant. George Washington Williams, a representative from the USA, wants to go to Congo to investigate the claim of the local being used as slaves by Captain Leon.  Jane, John's wife wants to go back to Congo as she wants to revisit the native families that they have there.

When John did not arrive at the port, Captain Leon begins his search for John which leads him to the village where John and his wife are staying. Nevertheless to say, being out of the jungle for quite some time, John and Jane were captured by Captain Leon's soldiers. Luckily, George managed to save John but not Jane.

This bangle is way too huge for me
Captain Leon was still hopeful that John will come and save Jane so he brought Jane along with him to meet Chief Mbonga. Slowly, John started to  peel off his layer and becoming Tarzan again as he runs to save Jane with the help from the natives and George.

Along his journey, he met with his ape brother, Akut, who labelled him as a traitor when he left the family to become human again.

Are we doing synchronized acrobatic?
Will John manage to save Jane with all the obstacles await him?

Plot: 4.7/ 5.0. I love the flashback scenes as it guides me through the character development. The plot is rather simple but was marvellously put together. I love the scenes where he met with his lions friends! So cute!

The Act: 4.7/ 5.0. All the actors did a marvellous job! Samuel played his part marvellously and I love his character. Margot and Alexander played their parts skillfully and so believable!

Will I watch it again:  Yes, I would! In 3D will be even better!
