It is almost Christmas and very soon enough, we will be saying goodbye to 2017 and singing at the top of our lungs to welcoming 2018.

Don’t want to spend the countdown alone but also don’t want to be caught in the massive jam in the city centre? I will be going to CITTA Mall as I heard that the countdown last year was da’ bomb! It was huge and it was merry and it was a party!

I was told that this year there will be Adibah Noor, Shawn Lee, RJVN, Baki Zainal and many more will be celebrating the countdown with the mass! So yes, it will be a celebrity-filled celebration and I will be a part of it too.

Oh. You are also invited to the party.

The celebration starts from 8 pm onwards on 31 December 2017 so, meet me there and we will be counting down the year away together!

If you want to bring your family members along, please do so as there are a lot of activities that CITTA Mall has in store for every one of every age. And the prizes are amazing too. So be sure to participate in the games/ activities as there are chances you will be welcoming 2018 with fabulous gifts from CITTA Mall!

So, during my birthday month, I stayed and experienced the best ever spa session at Cyberview Resort & Spa. And I have another Best Experience during my staycation at this heaven-on-earth resort. The food!

Can't remember the exact name of the cuisine, but it has delicious smoked salmon in it!

Of course. We Malaysians love our food and will fight tooth and nails to defend the treasured food of Malaysia. Here at Cyberview Resort & Spa, you will be spoilt for choices of food. There is Verandah, the Pan-Asian restaurant for the local taste. Or should you feel a bit Italian, there is Bistro Cascata that excels in wood-oven thin crust pizza and other highly acclaimed Italian cuisines. And there is also, Xing Zhu Restaurant that serves Cantonese infused cuisines and you can savour 'All You Can Eat' Dim Sum. And to enjoy the rest of the night, stop by Karma Bar & Lounge to enjoy the cold beverages and light snacks. One's palate will no never go unsatisfied here at Cyberview Resort & Spa.

So, what did Rawlins GLAM ate? I chose to be a little adventurous and went to Bistro Cascata for my dinner. Bistro Cascata is located on the poolside and looks like a cute little Italian cottage from the outside. Entering Bistro Cascata, one can actually smell the wood burning and I was quickly reminded of my hometown where my late grandmother used to cook rice over the fire using wood. So homey! It was spacious and there is also a wood-oven, cooking pizza! Excited about the possibilities, I quickly ordered my dinner. And guess what peeps? I have forgotten to take all the name of the cuisines as I was famished and salivating by looking at the food. Come to think about it, my full tummy is another reason why I had the best sleep ever while I stayed at Cyberview Resort & Spa. The next day, as I have to reach the office for an early meeting, I went to Verandah by 6:30 am. And I was the only one there! Yes! I get to take my own sweet time to choose and eat the breakfast - I have the Verandah for myself!

No one is around! Yeay!

As a Malaysian, I must stick to our root so I started with a complete set Nasi Lemak and a yummy and fluffy omelette!
Then I went for toast bread and accompanied by some desserts!

And super loving the fresh watermelon juice!

Just the right breakfast combination for me!

Amber Chia Shares Her Shizens' Beauty Secrets

But that dreamy vision will take quite some time to materialise as #RawlinsGLAM is vertically challenged. HaHa. That is why I opted to become a beauty blogger (of sort) and do some makeover (on myself) while sometimes, I do try out beauty products too.
When I was invited to a beauty sharing session with Ms Amber Chia, I was ecstatic! Who doesn't! To get to meet the country's most beautiful and successful model is just like meeting Her Majesty, Queen Tyra Banks herself!
So, there I was, sitting with the beauty bloggers and influencers, listening to every word of sharing by Ms Amber Chia in the middle of Mid Valley Mega Mall and awed by her beauty. She came to the event with very little make-up, just some powder and lipgloss and she was still strikingly beautiful.

Ms Chia shared that she was not always beautiful as she was a daughter of a fishmonger and often helps her father selling fish in the market in her younger years. She was not the one to care for the skin and facial back then. It was not until she was discovered by a talent scout before she started to care for her skin and the rest is history.

'Loving yourself in your own skin is the key to beauty and confidence. But first, you have to take good care of the skin by using the right products and drink lots of water' uttered Ms Chia. She shared her beauty regime and also how she started to put her trust in Shizens beauty products.

After the demo on Ms Amber, we were brought over to experience and discover the Shizens' products in its boutique in The Gardens Mall.

There, with the help of the Shizens-not-appointed-ambassador, Ms Syafiera, I got to know the function of each product and how to put them on. We get to play with the products there and literally conquered the vanity counter to ourselves.

Thanks Shizens for the door gift of Shizens Silky Matte Foundation and the new lipstick, fondly named Smack Lips. As per shared by Mr Samson Chan, I applied a very minimal coverage of Silky Matte Foundation during my recent trip to Siem Reap and I loved the experience of using it. I applied a small amount of it as it has wide coverage and it felt light on the skin. Thank God for the coverage as it helps with the hot weather in Siem Reap and it does not melt! Haha. I haven't tried Smack Lips but Ms Syafiera loves it and I take her words for it too!

MyIPO Protects Your Creativity

Malaysians are getting more creative by the day. I see a lot of new creations and brands coming up and I often wonder if all these innovators/ creators/ business developers/ entrepreneurs protect the labour of their creative thinking ie their products. Because 'copycats' love to imitate a great idea and tweak it into their own, which happens a lot nowadays. In Malaysia, we have heard about songs, makeup brands and headscarves designs being copied and some are being discussed in courts to solve the issues.

I have said that it is a kind of a recognition as 'copycats' only copy the best but I don't think the business owner would have the same sentiment about their creative inventions being duplicated.
In Malaysia, there is a statutory body that is responsible for the development and management of the intellectual property system i.e. patents, trademarks, industrial designs, copyrights and layout designs of integrated circuits in Malaysia. The body is called the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia or fondly named MyIPO.
Facts About Intellectual Property

Intellectual property (IP) refers to creations of the intellect for which a monopoly is assigned to designated owners by law. Intellectual property rights (IPRs) are the rights granted to the creators of IP and include trademarks, copyright, patents, industrial design rights, and in some jurisdictions trade secrets. Artistic works including music and literature, as well as discoveries, inventions, words, phrases, symbols, and designs, can all be protected as intellectual property.

While intellectual property law has evolved over centuries, it was not until the 19th century that the term intellectual property began to be used, and not until the late 20th century that it became commonplace in the majority of the world.

Trivia about MyIPO

MyIPO is an agency under the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operative and Consumerism and prior to 1983, the intellectual property rights were administered by Pejabat Cap Dagangan dan Jaminhak before changing its name to Pejabat Cap Dagangan dan Paten and placed under the jurisdiction of the then Ministry of Trade and Industry.
After a restructuring on 27 October 2990, the office changed its name to Intellectual Property Division and placed under the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (which is now Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operative and Consumerism). The division was tasked to administer Patents Act 1983, Trade Marks Act 1976 and Copyright Act 1987.

I was invited to a staycation at Cyberview Resort & Spa which I happily accepted! I was supposed to check in at 3 pm but due to a hectic day at the office, I was only able to check in after office hour. Thus I was not able to capture its lush green and beautiful landscaped gardens and its surrounding. I went back to capture these beautiful views on another occasion as I feel that I will not be doing the place justice without sharing with all of you these views.

I have actually visited Cyberview Resort & Spa for a few times to attend courses and meetings but have never stayed in one of its room. I was happy to find the abundance of parking spaces in front of the hotel lobby where I was greeted and ushered in by the ever-smiling staff there. Based on my previous visits, I know that Cyberview Resort & Spa is literally a resort in the middle of a booming city, Cyberjaya. It is strategically located in the middle of the greenery of Cyberjaya that gives a serene and calm ambience during my every visit - at times it feels magical even and unbelievable that this amazing resort is in the middle of Cyberjaya's technology, business and commercial district. Thus befitting the motto it carries 'Cyberjaya's Best Kept Secret'.

My checking in was a breeze - no hassle or long questions. Once done easing my mind, body and soul from the daily stress from work, I went straight to my Chalet. I drove to the quarters and was so happy to see the abundance of parking spaces. Some hotels and resorts do not prepare enough parking area for the guests. Here, the spaces are right in front of the quarters which eases my bringing my bags into the room. I learned from Reef that when he checked in earlier (he was on time haha), he was chauffeured to the quarters by the staff via buggy. Talking about vacationing like a boss, right!

When I entered the room, I froze in front of the door. The room was so huge - it has one queen-sized bed and a super single bed and I was alone! HaHa. I have invited a few friends to enjoy the room with me but everybody was busy. So, I get to enjoy the room all to myself (~~can run naked in the room haha~~).
I immediately went to the bathroom to check out its facility. Wow! There are a separate rainy shower and a bathtub! Yes! Someone will be having his bubble bath later!

Checking out the rest of the room made me grinned with satisfaction. Whenever I stay over in a hotel, I will always call the receptionist/ housekeeping department to send up an iron + ironing board and also a prayer mat. Here, everything is ready for use in a huge two-door closet - complete with 2 beautiful green bathrobes and slippers. On the work table, I found a bowl of fresh fruits, a compliment from the resort. That was so thoughtful! I tried taking a picture on the balcony but it was already too dark and I also had to prepare for the dinner at Bistro Cascata. So, I showered and dressed up before heading for a scrumptious dinner at Bistro Cascata. Once dinner was done, I went back to my room and prepare the bubble bath.

While waiting for my bath to be ready, I watched a movie on the 32-inch flat screen. Then I realised that the resort also has a DVD player and i-pod dock ready for the guests to use. If only I brought my favorite movie. HaHa.

After the bubble-bath session, I just put on the robe and read a novel while putting on a movie on the TV and sipping #MinKaffe. I love the very innovative and space-saving coffee counter they have installed in the room. It looks like a huge and tall wooden and when you open it up, it will become a coffee-counter with a water heater and a fridge.

It must have been because of the spa session I had earlier and also because the bed was so comfortable, I think I had the best sleep ever that night. How do I know that I had the best sleep? That's because my Garmin watch recorded the longest deep sleep ever that night. I woke up happy and contented the very next day. Another quality that I like about the room was it's wide vanity mirror and its counter top. It was spacious and ready with hair-dryer. No more fighting over the mirror here!

Before checking out, I went to have my breakfast at the Verandah Restaurant.
Oh my! I was spoilt for choices here! And the best thing was, I was the first one to be in the restaurant so I took my own sweet time to choose and order my food. HaHa.
Whoever went for a breakfast in a hotel at 630 am right? All in all, I had the best night and the best sleep ever for a very long time. Thanks to Cyberview Resort & Spa, my staycation there was the most relaxing and most pampered that I have ever had. So, now you want to have your own staycation too? Just head on there and let it all out!
