Malasaña 32 [Movie Review] | I am a sucker for horror movies - no matter in whatever language they are in. 

My cousin, knowing me too well, shared the movie file with me and I am thankful for the sharing. Well, most of the movies that I have reviewed recently were either shared by him or Netflix.

The movie starts with two boys who encountered a corpse in an apartment while looking for their marbles. 

Then in 1976, Manolo and his wife, Candela moves into the city, leaving all the gossips about their family in the country and to provide for a better life for the family. They settle for a fully furnished apartment - despite the grandfather seems a bit reluctant when they first see the apartment. Amparo, the elder sister watches over her two brothers, the lonesome Pepe and the curious Rafi, along with her grandfather. 

Pepe starts seeing a girl from a room across from his and starts exchanging messages. The grandfather seems to be always walking away from the apartment - as if being tempted by someone/ something. And Rafi keeps on seeing and hearing a woman calling out to him. 

It wasn't until Rafi was lost that the family starts to investigate the apartment. And they were shocked to learn the history of the apartment. But with no steady job and very low in cash, what are the choices?

What will you do - will you move out or stay in the apartment?

MY REVIEW

Plot: 3.7/ 5.0 Not even 30 minutes into the movie, I felt as if I have watched the movie before. Then I realised that the plot is similar to The Conjuring. 

I stayed on as I want to know the ghost - the clues were very vague and I learnt about the ghost at the very end of the movie. 

Cast: 4.3/ 5.0 The actors delivered. But I think they could have done better with a better plot and script. 

Will I watch it again: Perhaps no.
