The Invisible Man [Movie Review]

The Invisible Man [Movie Review] | I haven't been to the cinema that much recently (with all the Covid-19 issues and all). And when I read at Rollo De Pelicula that the movie is aired, I figured I should watch it.
Thriller, Mystery, The Invisble Man, Movie Review by Rawlins, Rawlins GLAM, Blumhouse Productions,
My very first thought went straight to Hollow Man, starred by Kevin Bacon when I read the title. The fact that I haven't watched any of its trailers in the cinema or online made me, even more, intrigued to watch the movie itself.

The movie starts with Cecilia Kass running from his husband, an optic scientist, Adrian Griffin, after successfully drugged him in his sleep. Apparently, the husband has been abusive and obsessive and Cecilia will have none of that anymore.

Two weeks after, still traumatized and not being able to go out of the house of James, a police officer, Cecilia found out that Adrian has killed himself, when her sister, Emily comes visiting her. During the reading of his will by Adrian's brother, Tom, she found out that Adrian left her USD5 million in his will, which will be paid to her monthly in the amount of USD100,000 per month. That is if she behaves and has no police record or is of mental stability.

Sometime after, Cecilia starts to experience strange occurrences - as if someone is watching her but not visible to her naked eyes. When she fainted during a job interview and later confirmed by the hospital that she has been taking too much Diazepam, she became confused as it has been so long since she took the pills. When she gets home and found the exact same bottle of Diazepam that she used to drug Adrian in her bathroom, she is certain that Adrian still alive and somehow is haunting her.

When she confronted Tom about the possibility of Adrian is still alive and possibly haunting her by becoming invisible, Tom explained that he was abused by Adrian too growing up.

When she turned to Emily, she discovered that Emily has received a hate email, apparently sent by her. Rushing home and found out that she indeed has sent the hate email to her sister, she broke down. Sydney, James' daughter comforted her, only to be hit by an unseen force. Mistaken that Cecilia hit her, both James and Sydney fleed the home and leave her alone. That's when she sees the proof that Adrian is still alive and somehow managed to cloak himself from seeing eyes. Cecilia visits Adrian's house and found a suit that renders the wearer invisible. She hides the suit in the closet before escaping another attack from the figure, who's apparently wearing another suit.

She immediately meets with Emily at a packed restaurant and as she about to share her findings, a knife suddenly appears out of thin air and slices Emily's throat right in front of Cecilia and the knife was later put into Cecilia's hands.

Apprehended and remanded to a secure treatment center while awaits trial, Cecilia was informed that she is pregnant. Tom visits her and offers her assistance by 'returning to Adrian and raise the child'. She refuses the offer and steals a pen from Tom's briefcase.

She later uses the pen to slit her wrist which managed to lure Adrian out and try to stop her from killing herself. She stabs him repeatedly and manages to flee the center, after which she runs to James' house to save Sydney from being killed by Adrian.

A fight ensues between James and the attacker which later Cecilia kills. When she unmasks him, they discover that it was Tom underneath the mask. Later, the police found Adrian imprisoned in the underneath cellar, telling everyone that he was imprisoned by Tom all this while.

Later that evening, Cecilia decides to meet with Adrian at his house, with hopes that Adrian will confess to all his crimes.

Will Adrian confesses?
Will Cecilia be free from Adrian after all this time?

MY REVIEW
Plot: 4.3/ 5.0 I would say that the plot is pretty straight-forward and almost similar to Hollow Man. A jealous/ controlling spouse wants to claim what is his. The spouse no longer wants to be a part of the abusive relationship and runs. The abusive spouse turns himself invisible and stalks the runaway spouse. The plot twist here makes the movie interesting and keeps me guessing until the movie finishes.

Cast: 4.6/ 5.0 I like the cast here. Everybody plays their parts beautifully. No comment whatsoever.

Will I watch it again: I don't mind watching it again.
The pictures are taken from IMDb and other sources on the Internet. Thank you.
