Shop Online To Save More Cash

7:30 AM 18 Comments A+ a-

Online shopping is the latest craze and it has no boundary - age or geographic wise. Even my 60 years old mum loves online shopping. And there is a site for everything nowadays - from electronics to groceries. Just search for it online and you will definitely find a site (if not sites) for the items that you have searched for.

Coupons Heaven
One can buy almost anything online nowadays (heck.. people even sell their kidneys and babies online too - very bad and desperate people).

Why? People shop online not because they are lazy.

They shop online because it is very convenient.  If you are still not convinced why people shop online, here are some strong reasons why you should change your shopping behaviour. (Why won't you? Do you live in a cave with the dinosaurs?)
  • One could find dirt-cheap offers online
  • Shop anytime, anywhere – without having to figure out where to park the car/ think about traffic condition
  • Become more productive with the time saved
Personally, I love to do portal-hopping as I want to compare prices and buy the items at the cheapest-priced portal. And I don’t mind spending hours going through the sites, just to find that amazingly low price for the items that I want.

So, what do I always buy online? Literally, almost everything except for shoes. For shoes, I am more confident and comfortable in trying them on first before buying them. Apart from shoes, I don’t mind buying items off the internet, whenever I have the means.

So, what do I usually buy from the net?
I love buying for self-grooming products, makeups items and some fancy and rare decoration items that I could use for my next best-dress competition. I am always on the lookout for the ‘out-of-this-world’ decoration that I could use to enhance my look.

Some of my fave brands and they have coupons for them too
The usual self-grooming products such as hair gel, moisturizer, facial wash etc. The normal products that a man uses. Hehe. And there was one time that I bought razors online too as the price was unbelievably low.

Oh. My mum and my sisters will also contact me to buy the items for them. I don’t mind buying the items for them as I will keep the transaction points for myself to buy other items in the future. Win-Win Situation. Hahaha. Usually, it is always handbags and clothing. And my mum loves getting new handbags so much that she will contact me every other month, just as when she finds the ones that she loves.

I love saving as much as I love shopping. Ain’t that contradictory?
Not anymore as I managed to get the best offers from Shopcoupons, a coupon-heaven for all avid online shoppers. I managed to get coupons for my usual grooming products and I even managed to get the coupon for a dance session at Celebrity Fitness.

More savings for me - and I get to dance too
Yeah! I get to enjoy Synergy Dance 02 Event at a special price of RM65 and additional RM10 off, when I use the Shopee promo code. Talk about being smart, right!

Everything for everyone
Browsing through the coupons to shop on Shopee Malaysia., I realized that the discounts range from 10% - 30%, depending on the items. There are offers for Kellogg’s, Fila, Jean Perry, Poplook Outlet Store, for home appliances and mobile and so many more.

With all that offers they have going on, I have to be very smart, careful and choosy. If not, I will end up buying all the items there.

But at times, not everything goes the way we planned. I ended up buying almost all. Haha. But it is ok. I saved a lot while shopping on Shopee Malaysia using coupons from Shopcoupons.

Smallfoot [Movie Review]

8:45 AM 20 Comments A+ a-

How would you feel if everything taboo that you have been taught your whole life, suddenly become not so taboo anymore?
Smallfoot, Warner Bros. Pictures, Movie Review by Rawlins, Cartoon, Klips Malaysia,
And turns out that everything that you know was a lie from day 1?

Thanks to Klips for inviting me to the premiere of Smallfoot. Looking forward to receiving more invitations from Klips soon.

SYNOPSIS
Migo has been looking forward to the day when he will be stepping in for his father as the second most important person in the village - the person that will knock the gong every day to wake up the 'Big Snail' and everyone in the village. Their lives in the village are determined by the rules that are written in stones and wore as a cape by the village head, known as the Stonekeeper.

Oh. And their village is a floating mountain and beneath the cloud, there is only nothingness - as to what the stone says.
They are taught not to question the rules, every single one. And so far, everybody is happy.
Smallfoot, Warner Bros. Pictures, Movie Review by Rawlins, Cartoon, Klips Malaysia,
Is this a toothpick?
Until one day when Migo accidentally overshoot from the gong and landed on the other side of the village. There, Migo met with a guy that survives a plane crash and this discovery contradicts what has been taught - there is no smallfoot aka human. When he returns to his village and shares his findings, he immediately banished from the village for questioning the Stones.

The organization questions all the logic of the Stones' regulations and believe that there is something more beneath their village.

The truth is out there
Determined with her theory, everyone agrees to send Migo to track the 'smallfoot', underneath the village.

Migo manages to find the 'smallfoot', Percy Patterson, a failing TV host that is in need of a great story to redeem his broadcasting career. Migo brings (read: kidnaps) Percy to the village to prove to the Stonekeeper that the Stone is wrong and he is not lying, just so that he can come back to the village.
Smallfoot, Warner Bros. Pictures, Movie Review by Rawlins, Cartoon, Klips Malaysia,
Not the same as I look in my Tinder profile pic?
Will he succeeds in convincing the Stonekeeper and the whole village about the existence of Smallfoot?

MY REVIEW
Plot: 4.3/ 5.0. Please do not expect a grand plot as this is a cartoon and it is supposed to be fun so it is a fun and easy watching movie. Just be ready to be laughing out loud throughout the movie.

Cast: 4.6/ 5.0. No complaint whatsoever.

Will I watch it again: I will, probably with my nephews and nieces as it is such a funny and kid-friendly movie.

I choose to play with the normal toys and not my smartphone
Failing to kill the Predator, they save Dr Bracket and heads over to McKenna's home, where he sends the armour to Capt. McKenna's autistic son, Rory, has opened the package and somehow has managed to operate the armour and uses it as his Halloween costume.

The Predator uses the tracking device on the armour to track down Rory.
The 'loonies' try their best to save the boy and everything was going quite well until a second and much larger Predator arrives and kills the first and much smaller Predator.

Do you guys think I should wear this for my next 'Best Dressed' event?
Why have the Predators been coming to Earth?
Why did they kill each other?

MY REVIEW
Plot: 3.4/ 5.0. I am not an avid fan of the Predator series. But we all know the plot - they come, they try to conquer the Earth but some bad-a*s human manage to stop them in their track. But there is a twist in this one - you better be alert throughout the movie to learn their motives of keep on coming back to Earth.

Cast: 4.6/ 5.0. Everybody carries their part fairly well. I love how well Jacob Tremblay (Rory McKenna) plays the autistic child. The 'Loonies' as I love to call them, did justice to their parts too.

Will I watch it again: As am not an avid fan of the series, I will not watch it again in the cinema but I don't mind doing a marathon of the series at home. Hehe.

Johnny English Strikes Again [Movie Review]

7:30 AM 19 Comments A+ a-

Growing up watching Mr Bean series and its movies, it was by default I have also loved watching Johnny English - the actions, his know-it-all game face while doing everything wrong and the plot. The movie always leave me laughing in stitches and wanting for more.
Movie Review by Rawlins, Johnny English Strikes Again, Comedy, Rowan Atkinson, Universal Pictures, United International Pictures,
Thanks to UIP for the invitation to watch the premiere of Johnny English Strikes Back. It was an invitation that I eagerly snatched.

SYNOPSIS
The movie begins when a cyber-attack reveals the identity of all active MI7 operatives in Britain, leaving Johnny English as the country's last hope. English, who is teaching the kids how to be a spy, leaves the school when he receives the invitation. Apparently, MI7 has to resort to all the retired spies and including English, there were four that are still alive.

Johnny English Strikes Again Trivia

  • Produced by: Chris Clark, Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Rowan Atkinson
  • Distributed by: Universal Pictures

Movie Review by Rawlins, Johnny English Strikes Again, Comedy, Rowan Atkinson, Universal Pictures, United International Pictures,
I am the ONLY hope, again? Oh my gosh!
Movie Review by Rawlins, Johnny English Strikes Again, Comedy, Rowan Atkinson, Universal Pictures, United International Pictures,
Catwalk, I heard. But now, doggy walk, Sir?
While waiting for the briefing session, English accidentally 'knocks out' his other competition leaving him the only choice to reveal the hacker. His only demand for the mission was to get Bough by his side and to not have any other digital items as he doesn't want to be an easy target by the hacker.
Movie Review by Rawlins, Johnny English Strikes Again, Comedy, Rowan Atkinson, Universal Pictures, United International Pictures,
I invent my own dance style.
The hacker seems to be working faster as English dive deeper into the mission when he hackes the air and road traffic control. Throughout his mission, he encounters a mysterious and sexy spy, Ophelia who finally are forced to work alongside English to unravel the identity of the hacker. And without Bough, we all know that English will be clueless, most of the time, especially with him being reluctant to use the modern technology.
Movie Review by Rawlins, Johnny English Strikes Again, Comedy, Rowan Atkinson, Universal Pictures, United International Pictures,
You better not use my stylus for ear picking!
Will an avid analogue user like English be able to tackle down the master hacker?

MY REVIEW
Plot: 4.8 / 5.0. As the plot goes, it is similar to Skyfall as the longtime writers for James Bond franchise are also involved in making Johnny English, there is no huge surprise here. But I did not come to see the serious spy stuff, I was there to watch the accidental spy excels his missions in the most hilarious way and boy, did he delivered! The hall was full of laughter throughout the movie!

Cast: 4.8/ 5.0. Rowan delivers, Ben Miller delivers and Olga Kurylenko (the former Bond girl) delivers too.

Will I watch it again:Yes I would with the right crowd!

Believe in Chances

I was riding in my car, listening to Kool Fm's Segment: Refleksi Kool with Datuk Ustaz Karim Elias.
He was talking about going for success.

And this one analogy that he gave really resonate with me.

Most people will see the 'walls' that will keep them from being successful when offered something new and alien to them.

An instance is when a friend offers you a business proposal. Most of us will immediately think about the 'walls' that are waiting for us:
  • What if the business doesn't take off?
  • What if nobody wants to buy anything from me?
  • I do not have the knowledge to do business
  • I will certainly fail
  • I just do not like business
And most of us will not once consider/ realise that there are 'roads' beside the walls, just like in the picture.
There are a lot of people that have been successful in the field but we just don't like the odds.

And all these successful people have published books, presented in seminars and uploaded videos - to which we said no to because we just see the negative side of ourselves.

We just do not think we could be them - another wall that we choose to run into.

But then Datuk Ustaz Karim Elias said 'A wall is there so that you could try to go over it. Get assistance to go over it'.

Don't simply try to climb and think that you could do it on your own.

Alhamdulilah, I have made the right choice to accept the offer to become a G8Preneur with my mentor, Hanis Haizi. She and our G8Unity group helped each other to overcome hurdles and create creative ways to outdo all challenges.

Along the way, we made new friends and also extra cash too - because we are G8Preneur.
You want in for the extra money with us, the G8Preneur?

Let's meet up and talk about it ok.

The Nun [Movie Review]

9:22 AM 23 Comments A+ a-

So, finally, The Nun is released in Malaysia and I went on to watch it during the premiere.
The Nun, James Wan, Horror Movie, Valak, Movie Review by Rawlins, Rawlins GLAM,
I  just couldn't wait for the weekend to watch the horror flick. Thanks to my bestie, Ms Paris for the tickets to the movie and to learn the origin of the stressfully frightening and evil ghost Valak that we first saw in The Conjuring 2

SYNOPSIS

The movie started with two Nuns opening a door that leads to one of them ended up being pulled into the darkness and leaving a key to the other one. Running with the key, the escaped nun went into her room and when a dark nun-like figure moving towards her room, she jumped from her window with a rope tied around her neck.

Her almost-unrecognizable corpse was only found weeks later by Frenchie, a local that has been entrusted to send food supplies to the abbey from the nearby village.

Mistaken the case as a suicide,  the Vatican send for Father Burke and Sister Irene, a novice, to investigate the case in the abbey in Romania. With the assistance from Frenchie, the trio went into the abbey to look for evidence of the suicide case. The duo learned the history of the abbey - it was a castle owned by an evil-worshipper but the church managed to subdue him before he summoned a great dark and evil spirit. However, the spirit still roams the castle/ abbey to look for openings to start messing with the world. In order to keep the spirit in the underworld, the Nuns pray non-stop and the act has been successful thus far.

I've told you, ladies, I mistakenly read the signs. I thought it was the mens' room. Sorry but I have glaucoma.
The Nun, James Wan, Horror Movie, Valak, Movie Review by Rawlins, Rawlins GLAM,
I have to do my make-up in the dark, so please pardon the creepy look.
The abbey was supposed to be empty but the trio was greeted by the 'Reverand Mother' upon their entry into the abbey. Frenchie was asked to return to the village and the duo stayed the night in the abbey.

And not soon after Father Burke sleeps, the haunting begins. The duo has to fight furiously as their opponent is stronger than any problems they have faced before.
The Nun, James Wan, Horror Movie, Valak, Movie Review by Rawlins, Rawlins GLAM,
Where are you Valak? Here's a lamp so that you could do a better make-up.
Will the duo (or trio) be able to stop the spirit from menacing the abbey and soon the village?

MY REVIEW

Plot: 3.7 / 5.0. I was actually looking forward to learning about how Valak came into being. But this movie is about the spirit of Valak wanting to look for a mortal body to possess so that it can menace the world. I was a bit disappointed but still try to enjoy the movie. Somehow I can tell that the movie is not directed by James Wan as it lacks the scare scenes that I thought could be bigger and scarier. The plot is somehow predictable (as I keep on comparing to the first Conjuring).

Cast: 4.0/ 5.0. I have no complaint whatsoever about the cast. Each played their part convincingly.

Will I watch it again: I would but not in the cinema. To me, the script was a bit mellow and some of the scenes transitions was quite abrupt that somehow is disturbs the continuity of the storyline. It is a good horror movie but it could do much better, with all the hype going around about the movie.
